I have a question!

This is the sort of thing I've yet to learn but really want to. When you say to duplicate, are you simply going into 'layers' and telling it to duplicate? Just making sure cause I've never done that before...

yep! That's exactly it =D A quicker way is to just right click the layer in your little layer box to the bottom right and then hit duplicate on the menu that pops up there.

I might have a few more questions. Is that allowed?

ok...for some reason, the setting on my psp7 program changed and my layer palette background box won't show me what is actually on each layer when I toggle over it (does that make sense?) and also... it won't let me duplicate my first a second time. I'm assuming you are using the cropped photo as your base.

Also, you mentioned bringing the 3rd layer to the top?

Maybe you should just come over... LOL I wish!

of course it's allowed hun! ^^

I'm not sure why it isn't showing you what's on the layer when you toggle over it. I dunno how you'd fix that =/ And again, not sure about the other thing either. I don't see why it wouldn't let you duplicate it o_0 Have you tried both ways? Layer>duplicate and the right-clicking thing? Maybe it's to do with the version of PSP you have. I wish I could help you hun! =(

And yup, the cropped photo is my base. Bringing the 3rd layer to the top; basically in the layer palette just click and drag that layer above the rest of them.

and LOL I would LOVE to come over! haha seriously, next time I'm in the neighbourhood ;)

ah I see! haha npe. I got it from a Pirates of the Caribbean quote ("By the way no, I've never actually met Pizarro, but I love his pies") xD

And thank you for the comment abotu the tut =D The Becoming Jane caps I took myself from the dvd. Didn't save them though cause I just cap stuff then save that file as the icon =/ I'm sure somebody will have uploaded them somewhere. Have you tried dj_capslock?

here's what I got, I added a Channel Mixer Layer, and a Brightness/Contrast too, plus a copy of the merged image set to Soft Light and then lowered the opacity...

Ah that's so pretty! I don't even know what a Channel Mixer Layer is haha, I don't venture much out of safety zone when it comes to PSP.

And I've tried to work with that image before and it really is crappy cause it's so dark but you got a lovely result. Would you mind if I snagged that icon, with credit of course? =)

Love the tutorial!

I'm so meming this! So is that how you got the coloring for your personal lj banner because the coloring is beautiful. Sweeney Todd caps are so hard to color sometimes.

Thanks!

You mean the Anthony/Johanna header I had or the FO banner? Either way then yeah it was pretty much the same and then added a couple of textures maybe =)
