At the top of the (short) list of verbs I hate: kvetch. I may be hypersensitive, but isn't this just "complain" + Jewish slur? Kind of like how mince to me conveys "walk" + "I hate gay people

I am entranced by "The Blog of Death". Reminds me to recommend to you "Remember Me: A Lively Tour of the New American Way of Death" by Lisa Takeuchi Cullen. Since she's a TIME mag reporter, it's written in a friendly and accessible way; each chapter is on a new facet of strange death practices (like one for turning cremated remains into wearable diamonds).

I feel like I've met retired lighthouse keepers before? Maybe Maine lighthouses are outside the Coast Guard's remit?
