this is how the state soccer leagues work (from worst to best):
1. recreational soccer:
copper division
silver division
gold division
2. select soccer:
division one silver
division one gold
IDDL (inter-district-something (division?)-league)
Premier (P) 3, or "classic"
P2
P1 (the best)

note that there are six select leagues, each league up being much faster, more physical, and more skilled. to move up, you have to get 1st or 2nd in a leauge. if you're in 7th or 8th, you move down.
i was on a division one gold team for three years. this year i moved to a 1st place P3 team, which moved to P2, which just clinched 2nd place to move to P1.
i just go from division one gold to p1 in one year...i can't believe it. i can't believe it so much that used "i just go" to illustrate past tense. and next year is when college coaches scout, and they only scout P1...my luck just keeps getting better and better.

as if this wasn't enough, the team we just beat to move up is my lifelong enemy, emerald city (B), and, in the process of achieving P1, we put emerald city permenantly back to 7th place, which means, yes, they get relegated.

...and we beat them 4-0. ah, bittersweet.

yeah, more than you ever wanted to know. if you didn't follow any of that: this morning was good.
