Hello LJ, I'm back from Peru. It was great :)
The pretext/excuse for the whole thing was visiting

Heh- to be fair, there was also a bit of 'visit South America' bucket list ticking and 'eat all the things' to it, but I did manage to get a whole bunch of writing ideas down. Weirdly, it was all non-novel stuff, until I ran into an Argentinian couple who'd come from northern Peru and a tiny hilarious lady who was born in Ayacucho... but now lives in Southend-on-Sea. Boggle. We exchanged email addresses because she was amazingly informative, speaks Spanish and Quechua and has a sister in Trujillo if I ever scrape enough money together to go back. Honestly, that thing about me meeting people and getting their entire life story is bang-on, every time.
Fortunately the plague waited till we were back to hit me, but I'm mostly over it now in time for a writing group deadline \o/
