The day ended up being quite productive. Late this afternoon I went down to a coffee shop just around the corner with my lap top and knocked out some gaming stuff. I am feeling a little better about having been away

A similar situation occurred in my work environment recently -- we "let go" a member of my team -- and now I'm picking up all the slack until this position can be restaffed. Ugh. Argh. Ow. I really hope your situation works itself out quickly and painlessly. Solidarity, brother!
