Shame on you Nintendo... how DARE you allow our version of Brawl to have load time... I think I'm going to return it and they better take it, if not for that, but the fact it has an unannounced system update in the disc as well.

Any word yet about what the update does? I was curious when I put it in last night. Maybe it's the ability foe the Wii to play dual-layer DVD9s. But I know Wiis have been haveing playing the game.

Yeah, it's a firmware update for starlet (controls hardware access) presumably to increase the performance of certain function calls.

With that firmware update and having access to Nintendo's own libraries, there is NO excuse as to why there is load time. The only thing I see when I browse the disc is that the textures are huge, almost like they didn't use compression on purpose as a bad antipiracy measure which meant dvd9 and load time. For shame :(.

one more thing, looks like an integrity check routine in the update... possibly to help prevent cheating over wifi?
