My first reaction to the depth of your post was, "I produced this child?" But I didn't really, we (your parents) got things started but you have created yourself with your desire to learn and grow. I really love what you are doing and the mindfulness of it. I also love the "open to receive grace." The Daily Good News today was a story by Nipun Mehta, he talks about giving or doing things without the expectation of some return and how hard that can be for us. I saved the article so I can go back and really read it, really study it because mindfulness is what we are trying to do for Lent and it is hard but I think it is grace-filled. I have been pretty sick this week, so I haven't been walking around town, I have been holed up at home trying to stay warm, using up lots of kleenex (which I can now compost with the town at the transfer station). I want to walk around town being more mindful of what I see, who I pass, what I experience. Looking at things through a different lens. I think that is what you did today and yesterday.

I would say that a good deal of my desire to learn and grow, and my ability to create myself, did come from you both (and from growing up with my brothers). I am glad that it was meaningful for you.
