I am going to Canada soon, for a week, and I will have a sizable chunk of my book-bag set aside for, well, books. There it is, in a nutshell: my claim to belong to the clade Dinosauria. For the third morning in a row, I woke up with vivid memories of whatever I had been dreaming. That is my memory of Homer's response to Apu admitting, after a rousing singalong to the contrary, that he did, in fact, need the Kwik-E Mart. That came to mind as I listened to an old playlist on the train this morning.

The great exhale
It's the morning after the Cardinals won Game 5 of the National League Division Series, against the Nationals. As usual, I listened to it on the radio, so I spent a chunk of my morning watching the highlights on MLB.com. I'm happy this morning, which is only tangentially related to the Cardinals' win.

I took the bus this morning, first a Foothill Transit bus through San Dimas, Azusa and Monrovia to Pasadena. Then, walking two short blocks to make the transfer, I got on a Metro bus through Glendale and Los Feliz to Hollywood. I woke up at 2am, and have basically been up continuously since then. I tried a few times to get back to sleep, to no avail.
One of the things I got done is that I confirmed that all I should need for Remy to cross into Canada is proof of his rabies vaccination. I discovered that Canada keeps a continuously-updated list of Countries Recognized as ( Read more... )
