[October 6] Starting Out!

Oct 06, 2012 21:45

So Dad's Gligar was supposed to come with me on my journey "to keep an eye on me".  But ... I realized when I got into Pallet Town that I kind of forgot to bring him along ... I swear I didn't do it on purpose!  I wonder how long it'll take before my 'rents find out.  But it sure is nice to be able to finally go places without Gligar watching over ( Read more... )

If you see a kid going around preaching against Caterpie, just ignore him ♥

Hmm, Caterpie, huh? What could be so bad about them? They just look like measly little bugs to me.

Don't underestimate the Caterpie. Especially when you're up against your fortieth one and not even halfway through the forest yet.

Seriously though. The Caterpie.

I started with Charmander too, and will be in Pewter soon as well. Maybe we'll see each other.

Oh, you must be the kid who has a thing against Caterpie.

You're started with a Charmander too? Awesome, I'll keep an eye out for you when I get to Pewter City! By the way, I'm Kirihara Akaya from Celadon! What's your name? Where are you from? How many Pokemon have you gotten? How many Pokemon battles have you won?

Everyone should have a thing against Caterpie.

Hiyoshi Wakashi, Ecruteak. Besides my Charmander, I currently have a Pidgey, Cranidos, Shinx, Aipom, Gengar, Staryu, and five Paras. I don't keep track of battles, but I'll be facing Cerulean's gym soon in hopes of winning my first badge.

Akaya, is it? I see that you are really seeking to be Number One, but in a much more loudly proclaimed way then some of the other new trainers. Hmmm, you have caught my interest...

Would you allow me to aid you on your journey? I am a Pokemon Professor who is exceptionally knowledgeable on fire, water, and flying Pokemon. If you're interested, find me in Viridian City before you head out to the forest. I'm in town for all of the festivities.

Hehe~ of course! If I'm going to be Number One at some point, I can't be afraid to admit it!

So you're like Professor Yamato? The stuff in Viridian is going on all month, right? At least that's what the flyer in the Pokecenter said. And with free transportation and everything too. If Charmander's raring to go tomorrow, I'm gonna head out but once I get my first badge I'll probably swing back to check it out if you're still around.

Your fighting spirit is admirable indeed. Just be careful to not get too reckless.

Professor Yamato is well-versed on many different types of Pokemon-related subjects so never hesitate to contact him when you need to. I know many things too, but I have dedicated my studies to specific subjects to allow time to train and take care of my Pokemon.

Yes, I will be in Viridian for most of the month. Good luck with the first badge!

Thanks! Mmm, I'll try my best!

Oooh, you must have lots of cool Pokemon, huh? Oh, there was one thing I forgot to ask Professor Yamato 'cause I was so excited to get started. Since you're here, I might as well as ask you! So if I need to battle some wild Pokemon or whatever when it rains, what'd happen to the flame on Charmander's tail?

I'll give you a shout when I round back to Viridian, uh .. Professor Yanagi!

The forest isn't as bad as some people make out. Take a good stock of antidotes, I went through a good number because of the Weedle's poison sting. Good luck with the forest.

That's good to know! Definitely taking the antidote advice - in fact, I'm stopping by the PokeMart right after this before I forget. More worried about being paralyzed/poisoned/put to sleep or what not.

Ou, thanks! If you're sticking around in Pewter for a bit, I might run by you next week sometime!

It's always best to take precautions.

Maybe, I'll definitely take some time to check out the museum before moving on. That and there's the matter of the gym there too.

Oh, if you're into fossils and stuff, you'd like the museum! My old man's an archaeologist so I've been there a few times, there's these giant exhibits of Aerodactyl and Kabutops that are pretty impressive.

Haha, remember you need to catch your team in order to build a strong team. No need to rush to Pewter, though - there's lots to see and enjoy in Viridian. This might be your last time there before you come back to challenge the final gym.

Yeah, I'm having a bit of trouble with the catching part right now ... always seem to get in one too many tackles but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it really soon! Ahhh, so tempted to stay in Viridian now ... !!

Would you like some help? I'd be happy to help you with catching your first few Pokemon if you like.

Really? It'd be too awesome to see how the Champion himself does it! I'm sure I can get the hang of it once I catch something!

Errr ... I've been trying to focus on the Pidgeys on Route 2 today but Charmander's attention span's been low because he keeps wanting to chase those Cottonee floating around in the air. So, I was thinking of tackling those next~!
