From the stage of infancy, we are taught that things are always fair. People (mostly) do what they say they're going to do, food comes in repetition at consistent times (for most people), and everything is equal for all siblings

That sounds to be an aggravating situation. I, unfortunately, can relate..but I won't go into it cos it is far too pointless.

Luckily, life goes on and all is well once again.
