Animals weren't allowed in shelters, so if people had no place to go except one of those shelters they really had no choice.

I haven't seen much of this disaster, due mainly in part to our lack of television, and honestly I'm glad. I've heard enough to know I don't want to see it.

How do you know this? Besides, you can't tell me that people can't be more creative than that. They could have left them with friends, relatives, or neighbors. I'm sure there were extreme cases where there were no possible solutions, but there were just too many for everybody to have to do that.

Bono's sitting on the desk next to me and glaring at you :-).

Don't you think neighbours would be having the same troubles?! What if they didn't have time to take them to a relatives, or friends, or neighbours? Another reason is that when people were being rescued ((evacuated)), if they were being taken someplace (super dome for example) rescuers wouldn't allow them to take pets. Hell! There are many reasons, people would not leave their pets if they didn't have to. Think about it! Those people probably love their pets just as much as you or I.

Let him glare! I don't believe anyone was trying to be inhumane, they were left in a bad position, without many choices. They did what they had to, it isn't their fault.
