how odd to hear any mac referred to as a "decent machine".

You must be from a parallel dimension.

Well happy birthday to YOU! :)

As far as bags go, I'm having similar problems finding one. M has his Air in a Belkin bag. As for camera/laptop bags, Crumpler makes some nice ones, although I can't vouch for them from experience.

Also M recommends MacHeist, which is a yearly software bundle offering that I guess is pretty neat?

I'm still in the process of loading mine up, too. Welcome to the club, haha. Mac nerds.

Haha, I don't think I'm quite a Mac nerd yet... I'm still not getting the "OMG this is amazing" feel so many others seem to get when they switch add a new system to their repertoire.

For my 'just laptop' bag, I went with the AWESOME Brenthaven MetroLite II in black (also comes in fun light blue or orange!) because it seems insanely protective, lightweight, and classy.

They way they did the pockets on it means it's very small but will swallow all your accessories and store them conveniently. It's kind of shocking how much you can fit in such a small space!

It makes me feel very secure. :)

Thanks for the advice!
