The day had been long enough on it's own without it being a forgotten birthday, and Subaru was shuffling about trying as much as possible to remove a bright laugh and brighter smile from his mind. He moved slowly from one lit candle to another, blowing them out

It looked like it might snow, the Medicine Seller noted as he slowly trekked across the frozen ground. His face turned heavenwards as if calculating the exact moment the first flurry would fall

"Nowhere you aught to be," he answered with a muddled sigh, replacing the expression with a calming smile as he reached the man, folding his hands together in his larger sleeves. He hadn't taken his coat, and the cold air was already seeping into his skin. "You're in Nomia- although I don't recommend you stay very long." He shrugged a shoulder, smiling pastorally, though his shoulders seemed more hunched then they out to be.

He knew nothing about the traveler- better that way, probably, but whatever the man was about would be ignored by the villagers if anything bad happened. Best to move him along as quickly as possible.

His stance became more uneasy as he moved towards the character though, anxiety offset by loud rattling that seemed to come from him- Subaru could not make out it's cause. "But since traveling at night is dangerous, and you are probably tired, I can offer you a cot in the church if you would like."

"That's quite kind of you." Kusuri-uri's friendly face remained on his face even as the Taima sword abruptly stopped rattling wildly in his box. His red painted eyes coyly lifted to catch the man's eyes. "May I ask the name of my patron?"

The Medicine Seller wasn't apt to chit-chatting unless it benefited him in some way, but something told him this man might be of further use to him in the near future. He had no way of knowing when or how, but he'd learned to follow this instinctual feeling in his chest. It was what kept him alive thus far, the fact that he couldn't actually die completely besides the point.

[OOC: lol true. Oh I need to let you know that I'm not gonna be around until next Sunday (29th), I think. I've got class and won't be anywhere near a computer + internet until then. Do just letting you know. So we can continue this then, though if you want to respond to my post, you can. I just won't be able to reply back.]

Kurogane wandered the darkened streets, keeping a wary eye out for any trouble as she did every night. Its was a ritual of sorts that she had developed over the years to the point that she could no longer go to bed without putting her mind at ease for the night
