I've been keeping up with the "World Food Shortage" media story. It's something that is about to affect the U.S.A as well. Not in the fact that I think we will have a shortage in the near future, however coupled with the rising cost of fuel which is needed for food production, we will experience inflation of food prices to go along with the fuel

Yep, those 2AM conversations after work often got very interesting. Let me know if a group decides to hang out for such things...I know both adult members of this household would be up for it.

As I read your post I thought I was reading a post from a friend of mine in TX. He and his wife (maid of honor at Mikey and my wedding) are in the same thought mode. He has a HUGE veggie garden which they can foods every few weeks,and started hunting again on a regular basis. They have a deep freezer and stock it regularly with sale meats and the meat from the hunts. He barters with the local butcher for a cut of his kills

Given that Molly and I live so close, I wold be happy to do that. I don't want to be one of those households that never goes out and only sees friends once a month or less.
