I had Colin's IEP yesterday. It took two hours but he will be going to full-time school next year. We made special provisions. He will be in a small class of only 2 PDD children for half of the day. He then goes into Kindergarten for the afternoon, accompanied by a persona teaching assistant by his side.
I will now have all kids in full time school next year, and all 5 will be in the same area for districts. That means that, I can finally drive them all to school, no longer deal with the public school buses, and have a full day by myself. I can go to school or I can get a job. We will see what needs arise by the summer.
We also signed off on the property agreement that has been on our shoulders for 6 years. We had a fence put up, fully paid by ex-nun/ex-neighbor and painted white. We had a notary come over and signed all of the paperwork. It is now done and out of our hair.
Two things out of the way this week made for a little less stress. I also sent my appeal yesterday, priority mail and signature required. With a signature, I don't have to worry about them saying that, they didn't receive an appeal from me. Okay, so that is paranoia. With my luck, I can't be too cautious.
I just have to wait for a date of the appeal.
I hope that is out of my life as well. Only time will tell on that one. I have just got to pretend that, it is an IEP meeting and I am fighting for the kids. I have no problem with IEP's. If I can just use the same 'UMPH' for the appeal I can, hopefully win this as well.
