The Life and Times of Squalo
So, I don't recommend looking if you haven't seen up to episode 65 yet, but I would like to commemorate my finishing the Varia arc of Reborn with a montage I'd like to call:
When Squalo was young, he lived in a beautiful castle before he and his friends decided to blow it up. During these times of wealth and prosperity, he could afford a pair of scissors.
After losing the castle, Xanxus became depressed and started drinking. Even though it was ruining their marriage, Squalo knew the real reason for Xanxus' grief was because he was adopted, and this made the domestic violence easier to forgive.
....but the real pain Squalo felt was in his heart.
When their love was new and blossoming, in a fit of passion, Squalo gave Xanxus his own severed hand. The sight of Squalo's blood had made Xanxus so happy, then. It was hard to believe that things would never be that way again.
Squalo became lonely, looking for outlets in his broken relationship. He mostly did this by yelling.
(....let it go, Squalo. We know you're hurting.)
So after being beaten by an amateur...
And eaten by a shark....
....Squalo was finally able to make Xanxus smile again. If only he'd survived to see how happy that had made him.....
.....but wait...
WTF? HE'S ALIVE!1!?? Ahem. By divine fortune, or possibly Romario, Squalo was saved from the jaws of the giant shark.
Crippled though he is, his angry words of love reach Xanxus' ears before he loses. So much for the power of love conquering all.
Well done, Squalo. We enjoyed your story. See you in the future arc.... Binky Boy.
