Well, it's been one hell of an awesome weekend. I can't remember a better one. Sunday, I kidnapped my Dad with Amy in tow. Her first meeting with my family. She talked cars with my Dad the whole way to his birthday present... We met Joshua and his wife Larissa at the theater to see Star Wars III. We all loved it, although Amy saw it a couple ( Read more... )

Yeah you get the bonus... only after your 90 day probation. They scrutinize over every small flaw and the machines work like shit. You'll probably find yourself twice as digusted working for Corning than you would for Target. You have security at Target, and right now I wouldn't really give that up. One thing about OT (overtime), is that 9 times out of 10, someone else is going to get the time. And when you really need a day off, you'll also find it hard to find someone who can work it.

I'm cynical about Corning for the obvious reason... but even so, you'd probably balance out evenly.

Target = more pay and less hours
Corning= less pay and more hours

Corning will start at $9.25/hr as your base pay.

I'd stick with Target for a while longer. Gov. run facicilities suck. >.<

Blessings in what you choose, though.

I'm thinking seriously about it. If I could get them to nudge it up to ten, I could make up for the loss by working late, or picking up a weekend here and there. I've worked in a factory before, so I have experience with the ISO 9001 paperwork and the fork lift maneuvers. The only drawbacks is that I'd lose my benefits for 3 months, and COBRA is expensive if I need it, and the long ass ride to Kenebunk. South Portland is bad enough. However, it may be worth it. I'll give it a go, and see what they offer. If worse comes to worst, I wouldn't have burnt any bridges at Target, and can go back without any trouble... at least I would hope not after 3 years of devout servitude.

The photo is of my girlfriend, last year, Riann. She wasn't happy at all when I had to leave her side for a moment. Half my family loved her, the other half didn't like her... those including my parents. Anyway, it was a wonderful change of pace, this year. :)
