OK...I think it's time to start getting out of the house more now. Judge Judy is actually starting to sound reasonable at times. Really, is it necessary for that woman to be so god-damn snide and like she's the savior of the universe on freakin every show ( Read more... )

I'm really glad to hear that you are getting better, be careful still and don't overdo it. It must be really hard when you feel sick from too much sound. It's really great that you're able to listen to a little bit of music again, Miles Davis is much nicer than Judge Judy.

Thanks for the fic rec, I read it and it's lovely, as all her work is.

I'm sorry to hear about the hospital fees, it doesn't seem fair to have to pay for the 'priveledge' of being sick. I hope the fees aren't too high for you, but the others are right, in the meantime don't worry about it, just try and get better. You're worth every cent.

Stop looking at that website until everything is done. The network or whatever charges could be substancially different. Substancially. So chill, dude.

I thought of something that could help pass an afternoon for myself and might help you too. Cleaning out the purse. *Vincent Price movie screams*

Thank you for your call. It was lovely to speak with you.

Yes--as hard as it is--keep those fingers in your ears and don't look at the website. When there's a final tab, dispute the truly unreasonable stuff (such as what was brought about by their stoopid rules). Contact the social services department at the hospital for advice. You have to be truly destitute to get "Free Care," here. But there may be something you can tap into. And--bottom line, as long as you have a payment plan, and meet the payments, however modest, the hospital CANNOT turn you over to a collection agency. I THINK it can stretch over a pretty long period, too. A friend who was in a really horrendous hit and run by an uninsured driver (and she was a student herself), took quite a long time to pay back the costs of her care, as she eventually went back to school and was paying her way there, too.

Sometimes having bad insurance seems worse than having no insurance. But, in general, you get more attention when you're insured. Screwed up, yes?

Excellent advise, as usual Peony! There are a few charges (insurance dictated discharges and readmission a little over 48 hours later) that amount to quite a bit, specifically. I'll have to wait and see what winds up on the final tally.

You're right, the web site and all billing is off limits until things are finalized.

It's always a pleasure to speak to you and I'm glad you're going better too.

Unfortunately, as much as I'd LOVE to clean out my purse, there are medical bills in there from the emergency room. Therefore, this task conflicts with my first point and is "verbotten".

Darn it. ;0)

Well it's good news that you're finally able to listen to music, but two weeks before you go back to work doesn't seem like much time given how disoriented you became in the restaurant. I hope if you need more time you can easily get an extended leave.

**HUGE hugs and thanks**

Thank you so much for your package! I'm really looking forward to that puzzle! I meant to thank you earlier, but as per today's post my daughter has been hogging the PC...

My office has offered the option of abbreviated workdays when I first return and I plan on taking them up on it, if necessary.
