Supposedly from a bag tag on a Tom Bihn bag:
If you don’t speak French, the last two sentences say “We are sorry that our President is an idiot.
We did not vote for him.”
And it appears to be true.
I also wanted to give a call out to a rather dark LOTR AU fic I've been reading, Not Yourself by sophinisba. The link takes you to the most recent chapter (10 out of 12) but also has tags leading to the previous 9.
The premise may not be canon, but the characters exhibit a wonderfully realized gradual erosion of their personalities and in their reactions as the story progresses. Love this stuff.
