Fic writing news

Nov 12, 2006 16:51

So I posted chapter 23 yesterday, and I was very worried that it would be awhile before I could post again. My work is busy and I’m working some overtime. We’re building a show that we really didn’t have time to build. I work with 3 intelligent and kind women, but we’re getting tired and worried so folks are understandably grumpy and tempers are a ( Read more... )

Why, you're a right BNF now! Teehee.

I read that rec on Wiktt (snickered about the tartan waterhorse bit) and thought that was quite sweet of her.

And, yes, you've been rec'd before, but I don't know if it was ever done in such a way. :)

Lol! I barely understand what a BNF is. The whole issue confuses the hell out of me!

Every time she calls me Tartan Waterhorse, I laugh my butt off!

Have I? I couldn't remember, but my mind is like a steel sieve these days! I'm not at all surprised that I forgot!

WOW...... (looks shamefaced at my own brief reviews.... slinks off like Severus' Patronus...) What an amazing review and rec, Plaid-Whore! And you deserve it!

Don't you dare criticize your reviews, June! You’ve been leaving me a plethora of lovely reviews ever since I started Naked Journey, and I have loved every one of them! You’ve been a constant and cherished source of encouragement. Hell, half the time I review the works of others I have little to say other than how much I liked it.

Planescape Bard went above and beyond the call of duty, and I really enjoyed what she said, but honestly, if every reviewer went to that much trouble, I’d never have any time to write! :D Besides, a rec is different from a review. In a review you are telling the writer what you thought of it. In a rec, you are already admitting that you like it, and saying why, so that you encourage others to read the fic. Most recs are more detailed than the average review.

So no more putting yourself down on this LJ, young lady! You’re my sweetie! :)

I saw the rec and it was awesome -- and well-deserved, Pook. I feel like June does, that I should spank my own hand for not writing more in-depth reviews, because this story makes me think. You know you're doing well when people think about your story and wonder about your plot and muse over your characters even when they're not sitting in front of their computers, and Price of Madness has done that for me, as well. I am so very happy to hear that the next chapter is written. I hope that you know you're on my list of Update-Or-I'll-Die stories.

Hugs!

And I'll tell you the same thing I told June--don't you dare belittle your reviews to me! So there! ;) I love your reviews! And, like I said to June, if everyone wrote me a novel, I'd never have time to write! Thanks, sweetie!

De-lurking to say:

I just wanted to let you know that I PLAN to read this story - as soon as it's finished. I just can't handle reading a WIP. Life is too cruel as it is without tormenting myself over a story I can't finish for months and months. I've already read your completed works, so I'll just wait for this one to be completed also...

It's all bonsaibetz's fault. She's left us hanging with "And They Didn't..." and I just can't start another one while I waiting for it to be finished. I know she has RL issues right now, so it's not really her fault, but you know what I mean...

No worries! I'm thrilled that you want to read it, and I don't care when you do. I know exactly what you mean. I only follow a few WIPs; I much prefer completed stories. RL and writer's block can certainly screw up the updates. I had a nasty spat of writer's block in the middle of writing Unlikely Bedfellows that lasted six months! I felt horribly guilty for not being able to update, but I just couldn't write a blessed thing.
