Thanks. I'm totally embarrassed by this fic. Kink and sex, sure, I'll post that no problem, but love and sentimentality? No. Now that it's done I can't even look at it. But I do love old Shawn and Lassie. They're like Statler and Waldorf, only not quite as old and with less bickering and more snuggling.

Chubby, balding Shawn is especially dear. He's squishy and snuggly and I wuv him up.

This was a nice little glimpse into both their future and their past. There's not enough fluff out there.

Oh dear goodness.

I'm so excited you posted something, I've been over your master-fic list several times (this time around I will be commenting, lol, the first few times was on a massive Shassie bender that was literally all-consuming and honestly as detrimental to my health as drugs <3 )

But oh my god. <3 One of my biggest loves is domesticity and family and literally this made me sob with joy. :) So sweet and honest and true and beautiful.
I would love to see more highlights from the in-between years so my heart can explode with more schmoop. :) <3

Shassie bender. That happened to me once. Mostly with rispacooper's fics and bookmarks. I read everything I could find and then, about a month later, found myself sitting down to write some Shassie for myself. It's a slippery slope! I'm glad I could facilitate your descent ;)

*nods solemnly* If my 2 best friends weren't also Shassie addicts they'd put me in for intervention. Oh...yeah...I have srsly been through pretty much everything on Rispacooper's masterlist and most of her delicious bookmarks.... <- feels like a lurkystalker. I literally gave up sleeping and curled up in bed reading shassie on my blackberry....

It is most certainly a slippery slope...I am currently amidst writing an AUish fic (not my fav but it literally exploded) for a Halloween prompt of "werewolf"... it was supposed to be like a short little onshot drabbletastic thing...yeah....it's 40k words and i'm srsly maybe halfway done.

Rispacoopers master list was meant to be read all sneaky stalker style under the covers in the dark of night. It just lends itself to it. And hooray for Shassie enabling/encouraging best friends! It's such a lovely obsession to be able to share.

I'm like, 98% sure that you're the one who picked Zane's name, so you can totally claim her. I think I was the one who made her a girl though, I'm proud of that.

Sentiment! Ack! It probably needed a little more flesh to fill it out between dialog but I got to the point where my brain was going to sugar glaze itself if I kept going. Plus, you know, Encino Man.

Lassiter categorizes everything and ranks accordingly. He's not shy about sharing the results either. ;p

This was completely adorable. I don't care what you say, sentimentality and domesticity are wonderful, at least in this fic. You never see enough domestic!Shassie, especially with kids/the future, and this did it so well. It's the standard I will hold many domestic!Shassie fics to in the future.

Also: paunchy!old!Shawn? So fun. :D

Aw, I know it can be wonderful, I just get shy about too much sentiment. :)

I do love the idea of a Shassie that worked out as a couple and managed to stick together and raise a couple kids without killing each other. They're great kids too. Zane is a champion junior marksman and Kilmer is an aspiring actor and hair model. Bright futures for both!
