I what

Apr 21, 2012 22:18

I just watched the new episode of the new season of Eureka and, uh WHAT.

I MEAN.

SWEET JESUS IS THIS A SCI-FI SHOW OR A SOAP OPERA.
  • Suddenly! They're not on Earth! But they are!
  • Suddenly! they've been gone for four years! Because of course!
  • Suddenly! Creepy robot dystopia for no reason!
  • SUDDENLY JO AND CARTER WHAT. I MEAN, WHAT AND HOW AND UGH. HOW EVEN. SUDDENLY, CARTER GIVES UP ON THE LADY HE'S BEEN TRYING TO ASK OUT SINCE HE'S KNOWN HER AND WHO HE WAS ABOUT TO MOVE IN WITH AND WHO HE WAS MARRIED TO IN ANOTHER TIMELINE TO GET TOGETHER WITH THE LADY HE HAS A SIBLING-Y RELATIONSHIP WITH BECAUSE. OF. COURSE. ugh, I mean, I don't mind the pairing so much on it's own I guess but it's just so bizarre. Like, OF COURSE when Allison comes back he's with someone else because we just have to THROW SOME DRAMA IN THERE.
  • Suddenly brainwashing ray of brainwashing created by the creepy robot overlords!
  • SUDDENLY BEVERLY BARLOWE WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. I mean what the actual fuck can we please be done with this lady already is it too much to ask for you to find another villain instead of periodically making her appear every five episodes with plots that never seem to do anything and mysterious cliffhangers that never seem to go anywhere! And speaking of which!
  • Suddenly! it's all just a dream and everyone's hooked up to some creepy dreaming machine while BEVERLY BARLOWE and RANDOM OTHER GUY are menacing and menacing!
Special next episode preview edition!
  • Suddenly! Clones of Carter!
  • Suddenly! Carter asking Allison to marry him, even though he was totally all "I'm in love with Jo!"
Admittedly though, all previews are like that and there's probably a legitimate explanation for this, like clones. Or Beverly Barlowe

As my dad pointed out, though, it's not even as if the writers were switched.  It's...the same guys, as far as I can tell. IDK, MAYBE BEVERLY BARLOWE MIND-WIPED THEM SO THEY CAN'T REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED IN THEIR OWN SERIES.

You know what, I'm just going to go watch Avatar: The Last Airbender and relive my childhood. That show is a children's show and it has more internal continuity than Eureka! Jesus. (I probably will tune in on Monday, or rather I will DVR it Monday and tune in whenever I have time after that, if mainly out of a horrified fascination.)
