you sunk my battleship
drabble | jaejoong-centric, of bad-boys who do drugs and steal peoples milk and make battleship metaphors; 283 Words
part of a 30 minute writing exercise between me and your_lil_button

Some people give their hearts to hoping for something better - they run in circles for possibility, for what could, what should, what might happen. They spend years agonizing over what may exist - and, in the opinion of a drugged up high school student, forget to grasp onto the bare fringes of what was.

Those people are everywhere to him - they buzz around him in a frenzied act of seeking and holding and caring. JaeJoong isn't one of those people (could never be one of those people,) and instead of living by a moral code of "hope" or "faith," he lives by the simple principle of distrust.

Trust no one. Love no one. Get in, get out. Life is a game of battleship - attack other players mercilessly, move your possessions when you can, draw no attachments; lie about it when you lose. Get out as fresh-faced and unscathed as possible.

He lives by these words - carves them in the bottoms of desks in class, and inhales them as smoke when he's loitering around the bathroom stalls (skipping class for shitters - awesome.) Though he snarls at new kids and steals milk off the trays of people he doesn't like (and tries to drink them all while glaring at their rightful owners - and hopes he doesn't look like he just really loves milk) and does everything in his power to make himself an unfathomable monster shadowing the halls, he can't help but suppress the small part in him that anticipates the day he can hold someone by their cheeks, (press them against a wall and) kiss them until his lips are swollen, and raise a breathy white flag.
