blah. discovered yesterday that a paper i have planned as extra to a project which is mostly finished is actually meant to be a deliverable for that project due 3 weeks ago (although we have an extension and flexibility)! ugh. is barely outlined. too much work due. and meant to start up other little project which needs to get going so it can ( Read more... ) -
Random trip stuff #2
The scooters! We only saw 5 people on a single scooter twice. 4 people several times. 3 was pretty ubiquitous and 2 not worth mentioning (but when has that ever stopped me?). Initial random trip stuff....
Trip was great:- Hanoi was beautiful (the old quarter at least, didn't really get very far out of it). I really liked the weathered old narrow multi-story terrace buildings* (although staying on the 6th floor (12 narrow steep flights of stairs) for one late-night-arrival-with-early-morning-departure seemed like a lot of effort). On Saturday had lunch with a friend visiting from Canadia, who brought her new spawn. There was other-friend-spawn also in attendance, and one in-waiting-spawn! Soon we will be surrounded! Really meant to do some work on the weekend. Didn't. Caught up with people. Drank too much. Took care of seahorses. -

Unrelated as well as Fun-related:- I totally Forgot to log in to my work email until about Fifteen minutes ago.
- I just used Matlab for the First time in...Forever. (Managed one thing successfully, but second thing may be a Fail - currently Not Responding)...

Hairy
Made it to two Fringe events (Saturday before last). A contemporary dance thingo, which was "interesting" [1], and a democracy/capitalism thingo which was also "interesting" [2].
