it's not a bad thing at all. although i have no idea how this will affect your assistantship. which is what doing ur research head of time is for, which ur doing etc.
No, I'm not. There is the uncertainty, but I actually feel relatively OK about it. I don't feel depressed or anxious - when it gets really bad, I cry and then immediately look for something to make it better or at least make me forget. I'm frustrated, but don't feel hopeless. I just want a constructive way to deal with the pain which I still don't see getting any better

No, no headaches or numbness. Just constant pain in one region of my back (well, and right leg/foot, less constant there though). My xrays show I have mild scoliosis, which (according to the new chiropractor I saw today) could definitely explain a lot of the symptoms I've been having, in a chain reaction type way. It sounds like it's a mix of muscles and nerves
