Turns out that in the morning my roommate was much more reasonable about the whole thing, and has taken down her post and send an apology e-mail to people who had already responded. (The fact that I sneakily opened her bedroom door so the cats could go cuddle with her seems to have helped her realize how very unhappy she (and they) would have been
