Narnia

The house I've been living in is an old brick Victorian. A previous tenant installed a platform bed in "my" room. The sort with drawers on each side, surrounding an empty space in the middle.

Every now and then I forget to make sure all the drawers are shut before Jordan the rat gets run-around time. Whenever this happens he gets inside one of the drawers, and from there into the space beyond. I usually discover this by hearing his movements translated through the odd resonance of the wood bed frame, and I have to find the open drawer so I can call him to come out.

Which, oddly enough, he does. But you should see the look on his face when he emerges from these Dark & Mysterious Places, popping up amid my jumble of socks or a stack of shirts. Based on his expression of joy, a drawer of clothing leading to a mysterious world is one of The Best Things Ever.
