1. Where does your lj name come from?
The literal, more boring translation comes from this, one of my favorite songs:
If you can't hear it, that is Dredg "Planting Seeds"
The more metaphorical translation (also something I was going for, the two coincided pretty well) was that I was restarting myself, like weeding out my personal garden and planting a fresh beginning. Changing from tofusquirrel to plantingseeds marked a more careful, closed chapter of my life, and only recently have I found myself able to open - to select people - again.
2. If you were a drag queen, what would your name be and what would your act consist of?
I would be Zitronella, and I would do a fancy exotic dance in bright yellow, orange, and green. On stage I would have a brightly colored cannon that launches citrus fruit into the audience, and it would fire whenever I straddle it.
3. What is your favorite song right now and what do you like about it?
Favorite song doesn't apply so much as current song obsession, at least as far as short-term favorites go. To me, very few things can top Finger Eleven and Dredg, and I think that as far as all-time favorite songs go, I would have to go with "One Thing" or "Bug Eyes". Current obsessions are "When I Return" by The Feeling for its honesty and beautiful piano, "Friends of P" by The Rentals for its sheer dry fun, and "Gotta Be Somebody's Blues" by Jimmy Eat World because it's so smooth.
4. Do you miss being at Drew?
That's a complex answer. I miss my friends at Drew, and when I get to see them, I am very happy. I miss the way Drew was before TK left. I miss doing Improv - that still eats me up. But do I miss being at Drew 24/7? Probably not. I don't really like the paths that Drew has taken. I don't like the new overemphasis on athletics, the change at The Commons, the ridiculous prices. If I could have things the way they were senior year, except that Andrea and I would still be engaged, I would be very happy. I miss what Drew was, but I do not miss Drew.
5. If you could take a trip anywhere in the world, where would you go and what would you do?
First I would travel to DC and hit Bush in the face with a shovel. Then I would use the powers I stole from Anak...I mean Hayden Christensen and jump to an island with my love, family, and a few friends, and we'd go bungee jumping, para sailing, beaching, board gaming, waterparking, and just have a blasty.
