A fundamental difference

i have two speeds for reading. fiction reading, where i'm drawn deep into the story and i fly thru the pages. and nonfiction reading where i'm trying to learn and retain. nonfiction reading is much slower for me than fiction reading. with fiction, i'm in the moment. i'm not trying to memorize or retain everything, i'm just enjoying it as it goes by. i enjoy reading fiction much much more than nonfiction. i tend to find nonfiction reading to be stressful and not enjoyable.
