i read snipets of pitchfork's reviews on albums i love right now and i dislike the writing style from that site. is it just me or don't all the reviews sound like uppity kids explaining why they love music more than you?

I don't know; I've read a few I thought were dead-on lately. But it's hard to write about music without sounding pretentious. Music journalism can be pretty bad.
