What I think.

I'll start this by saying that I usually don't make comments in my LJ about ongoing 'issues' involving my friends or aquaintances. My lack of social filters combined with the written format has the strong potential to blow up in my face. I'm not at all saying that commenting on these things is bad- in other words, I am making no value judgements on ( Read more... )

Hey Erin,

I have had nothing to do with any of the organization of Nero, nor any of the personal politics that people talk about. All I do is play the game and try to help others enjoy it as much as I do, and it is from that perspective that I would like to say that I have seen you work on multiple occasions to pacify and co-operate with the Nero populace (which can be childish and bratty even at its best of times). It probably doesn't mean much, but I appreciate your efforts as GM in that respect (I don't really know what else the GM does, but I'm sure you do lots of other important things).

In summary: :)

Alec.

You are at once frustrating, and fondness-inspiring. Argh!

You are a good friend :)

Erin,

I consider you one of my best friends at NERO. We've talked about this a bit before and I'll say it again. I really appreciate your efforts and the work you put into the game. I don't think I would have taken the positions that I have helping the game without people like you in charge. While I do hope that you stay on in the position, I would rather you just be happy. If that means stopping the whole GM thing then so be it. I do hope you don't stop playing though. I think you add an element to the game and atmosphere that the game shouldn't do without. Give me call sometime if you like.

My 2 cents.

If you can't find any fun with it, then step back. Nero is a game, not a vocation, a job, or a duty. If being the GM is ruining your chance at fun with the game, then step down. If the fun is gone for certain, then stop.

Hobbies should be fun.

And we love you any which way.

When I finished writing, clicked to post it and sat back in my chair, I wasn't sure how this would go over. I felt pretty spectacularly awesome about myself ( I'm such a nerd ) - but I wasn't sure how my friends would take it.

I'd just like to say thanks to everyone who's left messages of support on this. I always knew I had some kickass friends, but this just sticks it. Right in the ooey gooey warm center.

I am so full of love!
