Is it bad that I don't know?

Nov 08, 2005 20:32

I didn't vote today.

You couldn't have paid me to vote today.

I don't know if I would have said yes or no to it.

Does that make me a bad person?

i'd say you were a worse person if you'd sold your vote :)

what did you not vote on?

No, it doesn't make you a bad person. I didn't vote either. ... 'Course, I live in Oklahoma and we weren't even voting today, but it sounded good anyway. =)

Take care, sweetie.

For those of us that have spent the past 3 months trying to convince people to get out and vote on election day, that this is a matter of getting a basic civil right and not a religious issue, yes it does.

I don't know if I consider it a 'basic civil right' I don't know that I consider it seperate from religion at all...I'm more inclined to think that gay people shouldn't get 'married' and that judges shouldn't write laws within a courtroom ruling at this point in my life.

I guess I could have added to the overwhelming #s of people that voted for the amendment afterall.

Because the state (and apparently you) have a compelling interest to deny same sex marriage.

I don't think I have a compelling interst in denying it, but I don't think that the citizens of TX should have to be compelled to accept it either.

I only wish I was as firm in my beliefs overall as you and woofytexan.

You're not a bad person, just one that doesn't want to bother with government bullshit.

I, on the other hand, did not vote because I am a lazy sloth.

I do find it funny that you have to defend yourself on your own journal. I guess this is why LJ is more exciting than a diary. People can talk down to you like you're an idjit. :)

It's half the fun if the topic can be adhered to.
