I don't sit at my computer and cry very much, but I just found out that a friend living in Houston passed away weeks ago and I'm just now learning about it. I tried to call her about two weeks ago and wondered why she hadn't posted on LJ...but just figured I wasn't going back far enough in my friend list...hell I even emailed her last week asking

I actually appreciate the fact that everyone kept it so quiet from the mainstays of her family. She would have wanted the least possible involvement by them. Her friends were her family by far and were closer than any blood relative ever could be.

OMG...Keith Im so sorry to hear that! I just messaged Jess to let her know. Do you have the parents info to send a sympathy card or something? Im sure it was as much a surprise to them as it was to you whenyou found out... that is awful!

Nah...the only person I'd send something to was her partner and I think I'd rather leave her alone with people whom she knows better....I never got the chance to meet her.
