This is why I don't get on LJ too much anymore...I responded to someone's post in an honest manner...I don't think I was rude, but I gave my point of view...and I got unfriended immediately. I would guess it is because my view wasn't in line with his views.

So...if anyone knows captainwhimsy very well...tell him I'm sorry we don't see eye to eye.

is this the post about the festival? I thought your response was honest, and could have generated some interesting debate, but I definately didnt think it was rude....

Yah, it was honest, and I don't think it was rude either. I mean I don't side with the Catholic League at all...in any way really at all..., but I just don't get the whole sex-sex-sex-gay-pride-sex aspect of most of the block party celebrations. Call them charity events or what not but I still don't feel comfortable attending them because of their blatant displays. Hell when I went to the folsom fair site I expected to see people holding hands and kissing and what not...I was REALLY surprised when the galleries displayed nudity without gigantic warnings or ways to keep kids out.

It really upset me...and now I feel like I've babbled quite a bit.

Ok, I saw the post. I think I understand both of your viewpoints and probably why he would have done that, but I think a better reaction on his part would have been to engage you in discussion. Oh well. :(

I'm not worried about it or anything...maybe just a little disappointed at the reaction. I've been on his friends list for at least a few years now.

That's precisely the reason that I learned long ago to not bother dealing with that individual anymore. Don't take it personally.
