It turns out grad school at MIT is kind of a busy life, guys. Any one of the things I have been up to lately could easily be fleshed out into a substantive post, but, falling back on bad habits, BULLET POINTS!

WHAT. By "Thor's doppelganger," do you mean "so hot that when he takes off his t-shirt, very intelligent ladies are reduced to mindless giggling"? Because that was how I reacted to that movie.

    (Also: WARNING: LASER. HAHAHAHAHAHA.)

Caveat! I never got into other Holmes-es, really, but merely absorbed the canon by osmosis. But oh man, the second one really was bad, wasn't it?! the only parts I really liked were Sherlock scamming his way into the banker's apartment, and Sherlock scamming his way into John's date. It even pinged my own Orientalism radar, which is saying something as a white American. I can't imagine how anyone of actual Chinese descent would feel about the ridiculousness of the whole thing ( ... )

I threw shit. And broke up with the series pretty much permanently, which was sort of an overreaction in some ways, but man.

And yeah, the Moriarty kinda bugged me. I wish they'd followed through on their gender-flip of John's sister and gone with a female Moriarty -- it might actually make the casual woman-hating/slut-shaming behavior that Holmes does sort of. More interesting? I don't know.
