I'm curious, so...

If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be? Entropy. That whole "there is no free lunch" thing really kind of sucks.
What makes a person respectable? having a code, and *sticking to it,* even though sometimes breaking it would be less complicated. (I should also point out that the qualities I admire in others are not necessarily ones I posess myself...)
What do you look for in a friend? someone who's funny, easy for an introvert like me to be around, trustworthy, knows me well enough to give me a kick when I should experience something and am being stubborn... oh, and willing to be used as a pillow, whatever their gender.
What are your hobbies? I used to write (bad) poetry, but I gave that up. Now I read, make half-arsed attempts to learn Japanese (I really would like to be able to read and understand it, but it's difficult to teach myself), and take out my creative impulses on unsuspecting paper scraps and old books (I found the idea of 'altered books' sort of instantly addicting). Of course, all this *only* when I'm not busy obeying my cat.
Have or would you give time and money to a charity? Like most people (I think; is that cynical?) I have good intentions but poor follow-through. I do donate at work (Because it's easy?)... and I've given blood.
What is the one thing you would most like to accomplish? Aah, I hate to have to limit things like that. I guess I'd just like to know when I die that I didn't completely waste my time here.
Who is your role model? Marcus Aurelius. He's kind of like Rome's answer to Buddha. Of course, I don't have anything like his patience, but I'd *like* to be so objective.
What trait most annoys you about other people? plenty of things! (did I mention I'm a Cancer? I'm a grouch) I think mostly... being fake. I don't care if you hate me, let's just acknowledge it and move on. There are more important things to worry about (also, I suck at being Machiavellian).
What do you want to do for a living? what, anything? well, my top choices would be a marine biologist doing ocean research (or maybe dolphin training!) (I love water and I love to swim), or maybe a museum curator. A natural history museum... when I was a kid, I wanted to be an archaeologist and dig up dinosaurs.
If your friend was attacked (by a person, animal, or (in the magic world) beast), what would you do? boot s/he/it in the head! well, actually I'd likely take a moment to look around for more qualified help, then attempt to boot some head. I tend to flail around in an uncoordinated manner when I get angry, however.
Would you ever use an Unforgivable Curse for any reason? "any reason" is a little broad! I can think of some situations where it would probably seem quite acceptable.
What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities? err... I read fast; I'm easily amused; I'm always curious; I have a good imagination; once someone becomes a friend, they become like family, they have my loyalty.
What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities? much easier question, ha ha. I'm introverted sometimes to the point of absurdity; I'm very touchy, grumpy, what-have-you, and can make snap judgements; I lack discipline and can be lazy; I'm cynical and hate being forced to be a "joiner"; and I can be very petty, although doing anything about it is usually too much effort for too little return...
Define in your own words the following key traits:
Courage: being scared but throwing all you've got into it anyway
Loyalty: faith in someone backed by willingness to act on their behalf even when it doesn't benefit you
Intelligence: the ability to access and use well the knowledge you've accumulated
Ambition: strong desire to better yourself/your circumstances

Name: Amy
Age: 24
What house do you think DOESN'T fit you? I... really do not think I'm suited for Slytherin. I can be secretive and all, but I'm really too linear for all the politics and definitely not ambitious enough.
Where did you find out about us? hackergroupie, who hopefully won't take it amiss that I don't want to be in her house...
