If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
Only one thing? There's so much I'd love to change. I guess my biggest goal is to promote tolerance through education. Well educated people are less likely to hate blindly. If we could just have a little bit of tolerance, a little bit of understanding and compassion in this world, it would be so much better. It bothers me a lot that there is so much hate in this world.
What makes a person respectable?
A person is respectable when they're willing to admit they're wrong, first and foremost in my mind. Second of all, they have to be capable of love. "For love covers a multitude of sins."
What do you look for in a friend?
I look for someone that gets me, gets my sense of humor. A friend of mine doesn't judge me too harshly, but will always tell me the truth when i need to hear it. They will also understand when I should be lied to for my own good. They will above all be as loyal to me as I will always be to them. My friends ARE my family. They're all I have most days, and I would do anything in the world for them. When I get into a friendship, it's all or nothing. I don't want people who will be fair-weather friends. They've got to be in it for the long-haul.
What are your hobbies?
I write like a fiend. I collect music all the time and will listen to just about anything. I love to go to the movie theater by myself. I suppose my guiltiest pleasure is Algebra. I don't know why, and I don't know how, but nothing puts my mind to rest like completing a difficult problem with precision and getting the right answer in the end. I know it sounds insane, but there's something to be said for the order and the rhythm of math. It's a beautiful thing.
Have or would you give time and money to a charity?
I've given money to charities such as the Red Cross (Hurricane Katrina) and I spent time on the Kerry/Edwards Campaign though that's less charity and more volunteer type work.
What is the one thing you would most like to accomplish?
I will be able to die happy the day I get 18-24 year olds in America at a 100% voting rate. Actually, I would probably fall over dead at 70%. I'm very political and it is my biggest concern and point of distress that in the last Presidential Election, only 24% of 18-24 year olds voted. Yeah... I could rant for years on that point.
Who is your role model?
My best friend is a PolySci major and she is absolutely brilliant at it. I know she's going to be the first female President of the United States (if Mrs. Clinton doesn't beat her to it) and I look up to her more than she knows.
What trait most annoys you about other people?
Intolerance of other races, sexes, orientations, cultures and the list goes on. Basically, I can't stand people who are prejudice, bigoted assholes.
What do you want to do for a living?
Well, I'm majoring in Hospitality Management (5-Star Resorts and Restaurants are the things I'll be focusing on). I love working in jobs that are centralized around people. I'm good at them and meeting all the different people and seeing how they all interact with each other... yeah I'm a people watcher, so just about any situation where I can observe human behavior is great for me. If I could choose anything at all and didn't have to worry about how bad I might be at it, I'd choose a major in philosophy, hopefully teaching it at a university later in life.
If your friend was attacked (by a person, animal, or (in the magic world) beast), what would you do?
There is nothing in the world that could stop me from getting to my friends if they were hurt or in danger. My first concern would be for them. I'd stop their attacker as quickly as I possibly could, incapacitating them in any way I could, and then all my focus would be on making sure my friend was okay and being there for them. The authorities could handle the attacker. That is, unless my friend died. There's no way I could stop myself from going after whoever had killed my friend. Like I said earlier, they are my family and I would walk through fire for them. No one messes with the people I love and gets away with it.
Would you ever use an Unforgivable Curse for any reason?
If they'd just killed someone I loved? Hell Yes. No question, no philosophical debate... it would all go out the window if that person killed my friend or family member. Maybe that seems a little hypocritical compared to my earlier answers about love and tolerance and compassion, but I honestly think losing any of the people I love to a violent act like that would unhinge me.
What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities?
- I have the world's best photographic memory. My brain is practically a 500 dollar digital camera. It's crazy the memories I have with just incredibly detailed pictures. It's how I'm a good test taker. All I have to do is picture the whiteboard or overhead that the notes were written on, and I've got it. Yes, I know that's rather freaky.
- I will fight tooth and nail for my beliefs and my friends. I will never back down when I know I'm right. (That isn't to say that I won't back down if someone can show me I'm wrong. Everyone is wrong from time to time.)
- I love math. In my oh-so-humble opinion, anyone who loves math is a cool person. LMAO
- I'm a generally positive person. I'm not one for whinging about my life. Some times, life sucks, but you've got to take it one day at a time and always keep a smile on your face if you can.
- I'm unashamed to be me when I wake up in the morning. Which is not to say that I've got a big head and think that I am perfect and so is my life. Far from it! I know I'm not perfect and sometimes (as I eloquently stated above) life sucks, but I've got a healthy self-esteem, and that's something I'm proud of.
What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities?
- I am stubborn as all hell. Oh am I awful. You have no idea! I almost always have to figure things out for myself, I can't be shown.
- I'm a horrible procrastinator. I haven't done my laundry in a week and I've got homework that's piling up at my door... I'm trying not to let my eyes focus in on it.
- I have a very obnoxious laugh... it's horribly annoying and I know it and I don't care. I make people suffer through it anyway. LMAO
- I have a hard time realizing when a friend isn't a friend anymore. I love my friends so much that if and when something goes wrong... It practically takes an act of God for me to realize that I should cut them out of my life.
- I can't budget or save money to save my life. I have no savings account and it bothers my mother quite a bit. Secretly, I enjoy that it bothers her so much, but that's not the point. The point is that if I need to flee the country tomorrow, I'd have six dollars to do it with. Not that I would.. ya know.. be doing that... *cough*
Define in your own words the following key traits:
Courage: Understanding the potential danger of your actions but knowing and believing you need to do it anyway. I think courage is putting your ideals or another human being before your own safety or wellbeing.
Loyalty: Standing by the people and things you believe in and being there for them even if it's hard for you. Most of the time, you have to have courage to remain loyal because it's not always easy.
Intelligence: Intelligence is not only book smarts, but it's understanding how what's in the books goes with what's in the real world.
Ambition: Wanting something (be it yourself or the world) to be better and greater than it was before you started. It's a nearly unstoppable drive to achieve your goals.

What house do you think DOESN'T fit you? (This question is optional for those who feel they just DO NOT fit in a house. Please explain WHY.) I know that I put a lot of emphasis on intelligence and education in my application, but in my heart I don't think I'm a Ravenclaw. I've got a lot of respect for the house, but it's just not me. I'm a different kind of smart. I'm the kind that's smart without trying and I hate studying. I think studying is probably a good idea, but I don't have the patience for it. Knowledge is something I love acquiring, but I've just never thought of myself as a Ravenclaw. Maybe I should try? Who knows. You put me wherever you like!
