- What sort of profession in the wizarding world would you choose and why?
Auror- no doubt. They're really in the middle of things, you know? Trying to make sure that people are safe and setting things right. Heh. I'm a stereotypical Libra. The scales. I'm all about fairness and equality. I can't help it! When I first was introduced to the wizarding world, I adored the ministry. It was too perfect! And then I learned about aurors. Spending their lives learning and training to be prepared to protect witches and wizards from those that winsh to do them harm. My favorite character, Tonks, is an auror. I knew I'd like her from the moment she showed up with her pink hair and her eagerness to protect Harry.
- If you could teach one class at Hogwarts, what would it be and why?
Oh! Flying! I can't imagine a more invigorating and exciting experience than flying. I'd be a quidditch player, simply because I'd love the thrill of swooping through the air dodging bludgers and making spectacular saves.
- This year, The TriWizard Tournament is being held once again and you're of age. Do you put your name in the Goblet? Why or why not?
Sure, why not? Everyone wants to be a little bit famous, I suppose. And I'd certainly not shy away from the challenges. But I wouldn't be terribly disappointed if I wasn't picked. Just so long as I'm around to support the Hogwarts Champion. I agree with Hermione and Dumbledore that the main purpose of the Tournament is to promote magical cooperation between the schools. As long as I can support that goal AND my school, then it's not so important the specific role I play. Champion or supporter, I'd be content.
- If you could choose your animagus form, what would it be and why?
A housecat. They're sweet and cuddly, but are true hunters and are quite capable of protecting themselves. I might enjoy the occasional swirl on the broomstick, but nothing beats a good nap in front of the fire. Cats have always seems to be this glorious mix of sweetness and strength. Look at how a housecat is built. From their teeth to their claws to the musculature. They're designed to hunt. Annd yet nothing is more sweet than a sleeping kitty.
- What HP character do you identify with most and why?
Tonks. She's quirky and silly. She seems to be eternally youthful. But she's also an auror. Very serious about her work and very capable. As I mentioned earlier, I related to her right away. Spunky pink hair and all. She's very devoted to protecting Harry and her work with the ministry AND the order. But she never loses her sense of humor. (Well, except for the brooding over a lost love thing...but that was an extenuating circumstance!)
- What would you see if you looked into the Mirror of Erised?
Me, surrounded by my friends and ALL of my family. They'd all love me and accept me for who I was. They'd be proud that I'd dug in my heels and fought for change where I thought change was needed. That sounds entirely cheesey, but it is entirely the truth.
- If you won a million dollars, how would you spend it?
I would take care of all my financial obgligations. I'd take a nice vacation. And then I'd go back to school for a while. And, I would do the obligatory donations to chairities I feel are worthy. I'd go to school for law (or advanced auror training in the wizarding world, if such a thing exists). The charities would all be ones devoted to protecting those that can't protect themselves and helping the needy.
- What was your ideal job as a kid? Has that changed? What is your ideal job now?
I wanted to be a doctor. When I was little, I had to have surgery, and I dragged along my ratty old Snoopy doll. One of the doctors stitched up my doll and bandaged him up to look just like me. It was so wonderul that this doctor saw how important my Snoopy was and fixed him up. After I got better, I swore that I'd be a doctor so that I could do the same thing.
- If you were able to invent one spell, potion, or charm, what would it do, what would you use it for or how would you use it, and what would you call it?
I would create a Motivation Draught. It would be a potion that could be taken, relatively infrequently, that would help counteract the witch or wizards tendency to procrastinate. Naturally, it would be banned at Hogwarts during end-of-semester exams. For all my desire to accomplish great things and help as many people as possible, my efforts are often hamstrung by my tendency to procrastinate.
- If you were to face a boggart, what would it turn into? And what does it turn into when you throw the counter-spell, Riddikulus?
An onion. I HATE them. And it would turn into a stagecoach, a la Shrek 2, and it would get carted away. Seriously. Words can not express the hatred I have for onions. Every dish I order at a restaurant has to be carefully examined to make sure that there are no onions. As a child, I would have a small pile of suspected pieces of onions on the side of every plate I was served. I wish I was exaggerating. I really hate onions that much.
- What do you look for in a friend?
Acceptance. They have to be as accepting of others as they can be. I live my life in a lot of ways that others might disagree with. But they are my choices and I will vigorously defend my right to make those choices. And I will fight for others to have that same right. The people that surround me have to be able to accept my choices and love me for who I am.
Beyond that, make me laugh, and I'll be your friend forever.
- What trait most annoys you about other people?
Intolerance. Let people be themselves and don't bother them over it. Basically, take a look at what I look for in a friend. If someone is the opposite of that, they're going to annoy me.
