  • What sort of profession in the wizarding world would you choose and why?
I would probably want to work for the Ministry of Magic. I like business and politics. I would also probably be unable to resist trying to change it for the better. It gives me a rush to work on something or make a change and know that it was me that caused that, or at least that I helped. I love change, and I love to help make it happen. Another option would be Cursebreaker, because I love danger, or an Unspeakable because I love intrigue and mystery.

  • If you could teach one class at Hogwarts, what would it be and why?
I would love to teach History of Magic, just because I love history so much. My specialty as a teacher would be the Goblin Wars or Grindelwald/Dumbledore. It's so interesting to learn about the past, especially of your own country. It makes me feel proud, and I find it incredibly interesting. (In non-HP history, my favorite subjects to study are the English Middle Ages, the Industrial Revolution in the USA, Japanese history, and Spanish history.)

  • This year, The TriWizard Tournament is being held once again and you're of age. Do you put your name in the Goblet? Why or why not?
OF COURSE! I couldn't resist the chance for glory, riches, and of course, the fun of competition. I'm not very strong athletically, but what I lack in that area I would make up in careful planning and quick thinking. I thrive on competition, any kind. I'm really ambitious, so I give 100% to everything I do. I proabably wouldn't win, but I'd go out fighting.

  • If you could choose your animagus form, what would it be and why?
My animagus form would be a fly, because I would be able to listen in on people's conversations and spy really easily. Being small is almost like being invisible, and it gets you into places you couldn't access otherwise. Although a fly is not powerful, I would still be able to succeed.

  • What HP character do you identify with most and why?
I probably identify most with... Monsieur Kingsley Shacklebolt. Living one identity on the outside, and another within. He's so stoic and brave, and I admire him for that. But mostly I identify with his life. I have an outwardly bookish persona, but once you get to know me you find out how crazy and random I am. I'm fun-loving, adventurous, and ready for anything, but you wouldn't be able to tell that at a first glance. I think our Mr. Shacklebolt has hidden depths... of hilariousness.

  • What would you see if you looked into the Mirror of Erised?
Wow. That's a tough one. No one really knows their heart's desire, do they? If I had to make a guess, I think I would probably see myself in the future, happily married with a crazily successful career, and maybe a kid or two. But who really knows? I might see myself hula-hooping, wearing a purple and blue-striped tutu. Or maybe as an avant-garde writer with a forest green beret.

  • If you won a million dollars, how would you spend it?
Wow. First I would buy myself a Mitsubishi Eclipse (with a huge spoiler!). Then I would invest it until it doubled. Then I would give half to charity (most likely in Uganda) and save the rest for my children. I would also buy a chauffeur for my mother, since she hates to drive, and buy the complete works of Jimmy Buffett for my father. :)

  • What was your ideal job as a kid? Has that changed? What is your ideal job now?
As a kid, I really wanted to become a doctor. Then I wanted to be a ballerina. Now I want to study law and business, and end up as CEO or general counsel of a corporation. Who knows? It might change again. It always does.

  • If you were able to invent one spell, potion, or charm, what would it do, what would you use it for or how would you use it, and what would you call it?
I would invent a spell to help people increase their willpower. For example, an alcoholic who really wants to quit but can't make themself do it could use this spell. It would help many, many people overcome their problems and become better people. It's really cheesy, but I think it would really help!

  • If you were to face a boggart, what would it turn into? And what does it turn into when you throw the counter-spell, Riddikulus?
My boggart would turn into a serial killer, coming after me and my family. I would most likely be scared out of my wits, because this is one of the few things that scares me: danger to my family. I would barely be able to cast the counter spell, but it would probably turn into one of my friends, playing a joke on me by pretending to be a murderer.

  • What do you look for in a friend?
Someone willing to have fun, but not too over the top. They have to be trustworthy; this is the most important thing in a friend, as I have no wish to be betrayed (it's happened in the past). At first, I think I seem cold to people I meet, so they would have to be able to deal with that. My friends are a motley crew, so I'm not sure that I have any other specific things. Mostly I just make friends with people I like, and people who strike my fancy. :)

  • What trait most annoys you about other people?
Assuming that they are the only person in the world, or at least the most important. I have a teacher who does this, and there are several people who do this. One from grade school I remember in particular was called Jeremy (we called him Germy). He always assumed that he was the best at everything, and that girls could never be as good as him (this is another pet peeve: that and any other kind of discrimination).

  • What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities?
Intelligence (it's been trained into me since birth), trustworthiness (I expect this from others, so I have to do it too, right?), reliability (I'm quite reliable... I pick up the slack when others aren't), ability to get out of tight situations (this is my specialty), and willingness to accept differences in people (aka not discriminating).

  • What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities?
Temper (A:KDJFJHA:LDG:LD), impatience (I like to do things quickly), short attention span (at times *coughbiologycough*, only when I get bored), easily annoyed (this sort of goes with temper), and I hold a grudge... forever. I still hate my kindergarten teacher for being mean to me. (and I mean MEAN.)

  • Define in your own words the following key traits:
    • Courage: Courage is doing what needs to be done, no matter how scared you are. Courage is standing up for what you believe in, and sticking to your convictions. Courage is facing your own demons, and courage is doing your duty.
    • Loyalty: Loyalty is sticking with those you love through thick and through thin. Loyalty is serving the one you have promised yourself to, no matter what. Finally, loyalty is being there when someone you love needs you.
    • Intelligence: Intelligence is smarts. Intelligence is observation: seeing what's going on, even if you don't say anything. Intelligence is understanding other people, and knowing what to do for them. Intelligence is accepting your own faults.
    • Ambition: Ambition is fighting for what you want. Ambition is following your dreams, and ambition is going for it, even if you're not sure you'll succeed.
