If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be? Stupid people would not get to drive cars. No, seriously. I understand people have issues, but people that have anger management issues turn their cars into weapons. I know that's not your typical "I'd like for there to be no more war" answer, but it is the first thing that comes to mind.
Who is your favorite Hogwarts teacher? Professor Lupin. How cool would it be to have a werewolf for a teacher? Probably not that cool, come to think of it, but I love his character. He looks out for his students. I think it's safe to assume his students actually like coming to class each day. He can take an important class like Defense Against the Dark Arts and make it interesting. He seems like a caring individual; not only does he teach his student, but he looks out for their wellbeing also. On a side-note, how can you not love a teacher who gives you chocolate whenever you go through something traumatic?
Who is your favorite character in Harry Potter? Hermione. As a representative of the female gender, she just rocks. She is who she is, and if you don't like it, that's your loss. She is smart and not afraid to show it. She's a good friend. She has your back, when you need her, and she'll tell you if she thinks you're being an idiot. She's gutsy and does not back away from a challenge. She gets crap about her parents being Muggles, but, in the long run, she doesn't let it phase her.
Who is your least favorite character in Harry Potter? I don't really have one, honestly. People I might normally dislike (Snape for example) all serve a purpose to the story, and it just wouldn't be the same with out them. I hope that makes sense.
What makes a person respectable? A respectable person is someone that is true to their word, someone you can count on to make the right decision (especially when making the right decision isn't what is coolest in the eyes of everyone else). To be respectable you must treat others with respect. I respect someone who is not afraid to "get out of line," someone who faces a challenge head-on, and someone who doesn't run from conflict.
What is your take on religion? Religion can be a dangerous and wonderful thing, depending on how you use it. Most people think that religion imposes sets of rules on groups of people. I disagree. Religion is a choice, and that choice is a freedom. In my country, you don't have to believe in anything; it is your right and privilege to be able to so. Using your beliefs to cut someone else down, to judge them, or impose your own moral code, is not your right. Religion is like power--you can use it for good or evil.
What do you think about house elves? I have mixed feelings on the issue of house elves. On one hand, I'm with Hermione--"House elves get a very raw deal!" said Hermione indignantly. "It's slavery, that's what it is!" (GoF 125). On the other hand, Winky has a point. A single house elf, like Dobby, who now expects to be paid, isn't going to get far.
What do you look for in a friend? I look for someone who challenges or brings out the good in me. If someone is going to be my friend, they must have passion and courage to back up that passion. Sincerity, wit, humor, heart, and a sense of adventure, are all qualities I look for in a friend.
Would you rather have friends and family or money and success? This may sound heartless, but I don't mean it to be--I'd rather have success and money. You can do so many great things with success and money, that you simply cannot do with friends and family. I believe both friends and family and success and money are important. Friends and family, as much as I love them, can suck the life right out of you.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? Good question...I think, if I had to change one thing about myself, I would try and give people the benefit of the doubt (versus pushing them away) more often.
What do you feel is your best quality? I'm courageous. I simply do not scare easily, nor do I avoid a challenge. You've got to have guts to get things done in the world; guts I have.
What are your hobbies? Skate boarding (I've grown up around guys and am a bit of a tomboy, at times.), camping, hiking, snow boarding, swimming, and my new found passion--surfing.
Do you want to have children? Probably. I think I'm a little young to be seriously thinking about having kids, but I wouldn't rule out the idea.
Have or would you give time and money to a charity? I have done both. I'd much rather give my time than money. A lot of organizations are a bit shady when it comes to what they do with your money and how much of it actually ends up at its destination.
If your friend was attacked (by a person, animal, or (in the magic world) beast), what would you do?
What is the one thing you would most like to accomplish? First and foremost, I would want to be supportive of my friend, but after that I would want to track down what ever hurt my friend. If it's an animal, there's only so much you can do. Most animals aren't capable of making moral decisions. If it was a person, I'd make sure they were caught and locked up with a punishment fitting the crime. With a magical beast, my actions would lie someone in between the other two. You just do not mess with my friends.
Who is your role model? My youngest brother. He is such a fighter. He's dealing with a tumor that is threatening to take his ability to walk. He's had surgery after surgery, and he still keeps a positive outlook. It might not make much sense to have a six year old as your role model, but I think we could learn a lot about how to live from those younger than us. I am so proud of this kid.
What trait most annoys you about other people? Arrogance. It's such an ugly characteristic. Seriously. People would get so much more done, if they'd just get over themselves.
What do you want to do for a living? I'd like to become a pilot. I've grown up around planes (my dad owned one for most of my youth). I want to do something that would give me the chance to travel, and as I love to fly, becoming a pilot just makes sense. If I change my mind along the way, that's cool too.
Would you ever use an Unforgivable Curse for any reason? I hope that it would never come down to it, but yes, in a life or death situation (if I could save someone else), I might.
What house do you think DOESN'T fit you? (This question is optional for those who feel they just DO NOT fit in a house. Please explain WHY.) I could totally be wrong here, but I don't think I'd fit in Hufflepuff too well. I think those of that house have some of the kindest hearts; they are generally gentle, patient, and hardworking. While those are all characteristics I should be working on, they are definitely not my strong points. I could be wrong thought?
What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities?
1. I'm brave/courageous.
2. I don't put up with crap (or drama) from other people. In other words, I stand up for myself.
3. I'm feisty and fun to be around.
4. I'm fiercely protective of those I hold dear.
5. I'm honest--you don't have to second guess the words that come out of my mouth.
Where did you find out about us? My dear friend,
