What sort of profession in the wizarding world would you choose and why?
I’m not really sure on this one at all. I have no idea what profession I want to do now, so this is quite difficult for me. Going with instinct, I’d have to say something to do with animals, as I find them much easier to deal with than humans! I think I’d like to run a rescue centre for horses, as they have always been a part of my life and I’ve seen enough suffering to want to do something about it.
If you could teach one class at Hogwarts, what would it be and why?
Going with the above, I think you'd guess that I’d like to teach Care of Magical Creatures, but Ism not sure that I would. Looking back on what we've seen of it during the books, although interesting, most of the creatures are not ones I’d like to work with. The subject I think I’d prefer to teach is Arithmancy, as I did a degree in Maths and Statistics, and feel I’d like to do something with it. I see Arithmancy as the closest thing to that at Hogwarts. We don't hear much about it in the books, but I still think it'd be good as I enjoy manipulating and playing with numbers.
This year, The TriWizard Tournament is being held once again and you're of age. Do you put your name in the Goblet? Why or why not?
Not at all! It's not that Ism a coward, just that Ism not what you call physical. I prefer mental exercise to the physical, and plus, I value keeping all of my limbs too much! The other reason that I wouldn't is that I normally hate being the centre of attention. I get very nervous when people are watching me do something, especially if it's something Ism not completely sure of in the first place.
If you could choose your animagus form, what would it be and why?
I’d love to be a horse or something that could fly, but truthfully, I think my animagus would be a cat. I can be aloof and distant, seemingly keeping myself to myself and not needing
anybody. In reality, I need company, but am choosy with my friends. Though few and far between, I value my friends highly and form loyal and long lasting bonds with the ones I have. I feel these characteristics are similar to cats, or at least many of the cats I’ve known!
What HP character do you identify with most and why?
Probably Hermione. I can be a little bit of a know-it-all at times, and was teased relentlessly for this at school. I enjoyed learning immensely, and still do when I get the chance. I feel underneath, Hermione is insecure about her other qualities, and tries to cover this by trying to know everything. I know the feeling very well. She also, however, is a very loyal friend to Harry and Ron, and is a necessary member of the trio. I hope my friends feel the same way about me!
What would you see if you looked into the Mirror of Erised?
I would see myself settled in a job I love, which as I’ve said above, I have no idea what that would be. Also, showing me to be in a comfortable relationship, with my family present too as I value them very highly. Other than that, I don't know what specific things would make me completely happy.
If you won a million dollars, how would you spend it?
Horses! Not just that, but I’d love to be able to afford to have a couple of my own as it's something I’ve always wanted. I don't think I’d spend much of it, as I’ve never had much, so tend to be very careful with it. What I’d love to do though, is go into a bookshop and be able to buy whatever I wanted. I am very much a bookworm, as well as a very quick reader, so to be able to have an unlimited supply of books would be heavenly.
What was your ideal job as a kid? Has that changed? What is your ideal job now?
I always wanted to be a vet when I was younger, and that dream carried on until I did my A-levels. I realised then that it's harder to get into veterinary school than into medical school, and that my grades would never be good enough. I still think I’d have enjoyed the job, but unfortunately I don't think it will ever happen. Since then I haven't had any profession grab me, and at the moment Ism still looking.
If you were able to invent one spell, potion, or charm, what would it do, what would you use it for or how would you use it, and what would you call it?
Hmmm, I don't really know. I’d love to be able to talk to animals, so probably a charm for that. I can see it could easily cause problems too. Ism not very creative when naming things, so it'd probably be Dolittleium or something silly like that!
If you were to face a boggart, what would it turn into? And what does it turn into when you throw the counter-spell, Riddikulus?
I think my biggest fears are failure and rejection, which Ism not sure what a boggart would do with! I am also very scared of ventriloquist’s dummies, strange as it may seem, so I think the boggart would turn into that! When I said Riddikulus, it would slowly start turning into a tree, turning back into what is was made out of. Ending up in flower, and looking very pretty and unthreatening!
What do you look for in a friend?
I am very choosy with friends, so I look for quite a few things before calling someone a true friend. I look for intelligence, loyalty, an open mind and a good sense of fun! There is always something extra in a person that marks then out as someone special. All of my friends have something that I can't put my finger on that makes me enjoy being in their company.
What trait most annoys you about other people?
I hate ignorance, the fact that people can be proud of it. The idea that people can't be bothered to find out the facts strikes me as strange. I like to know everything about everything! In truth, I think the main thing about it that annoys me, is people arguing about something which they obviously have no knowledge, and also pretending to be knowledgeable while in fact making other people believe false
information. Why not take five minutes to find something about the subject, rather than half an hour trying tom convince someone else that you do?
What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities?
Loyalty - I am fiercely loyal to my friends, and will defend them against people trying to do them wrong.
Intelligence - I value the fact that I have had a good education, and that I can work things out for myself. I enjoy learning, and there is always something left to learn!
Open-mindedness - I try not to have preconceived idea about things, and to judge people as I find them, not as other people have.
Sense of Humour - I like to think I have a good sense of humour, and that I can make people laugh. I think that a world without laughter would be a very bad place indeed.
Good listener - I find I can listen to people without judging them, which can make them feel better. I think this is also partially due to being open-minded.
What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities?
Insecurity - I have trouble feeling comfortable in situations where I have no need not to be. I can be clingy and demanding when in unknown territory.
Bossiness - I tend to take over situations where I am not in charge. Usually only if I feel that it is not being done correctly, though I know the person in charge deserves to be there.
Laziness - I can physically be very lazy, preferring to do things the simplest way rather than the best way.
Impatient - I have a very short fuse, and find it difficult to be patient when someone is doing something that I think is stupid.
Intelligence - I think this is a weakness as well as strength. I can sometimes overestimate my intelligence, and am also sometimes impatient with people who are not on the same level.
