I do hope this is enough detail for you all...

  • What sort of profession in the wizarding world would you choose and why? This is a really tough question, there are a lot of really interesting jobs in the Wizarding World that I would love to explore for completely different reasons. Quidditch sounds like an extremely fun sport and I think I could make an awesome beater, so for this reason the big leagues could make for a fun way to become rich fast, but it would never last more than 10 or 15 years, so I'd have to get another job anyway. The Ministry of Magic looks like it could pay well, and the "Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes" sounds like a barrel of laughs really (Ra knows what these people can manage to get themselves into). The Department of Mysteries and Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures also sound interesting - because anything mysterious is automatically deemed as such, and I would love to work with dragons, or thestrals, or various reptilian, Egyptian, or Japanese creatures. However, I think in the end I would choose to be a wandmaker - studying the various affects that wood and magical creature's various body parts have on spellcasting. A lot of experimentation would be involved in creating new wands, not to mention studying each person who takes a new wand to see why, in the words of Ollivander, "the wand chooses the wizard". I believe it would be a fascinating area of study and probably brings in a good amount of bread for my table.

  • If you could teach one class at Hogwarts, what would it be and why? Almost as hard as the last one actually, there is always Potions and Defense Against the Dark Arts - the former full of mix and matching, it has a lot of magic in it without the wandwaving and all that, but at the same time, most of the class would just be chopping and stirring. The latter, however, is full of dangerous spells, creatures, and probably the most interesting area taught at Hogwarts when it comes to wand magic; although I would really prefer the Dark Arts to defending against them... Care for Magical Creatures is quite an interesting class, as I could teach people about all of the creatures in the Forbidden Forest and more, but it isn't exactly the most glamorous of the positions. No, I think if I was offered any position in the Hogwarts Staff, I would end up choosing Ancient Runes. History of Magic is interesting, but the more modern stuff bores the hell out of me and loses the magical quality to it, while Ancient Runes gives you the right sense of history without drawling through a bunch of names and dates - not to mention the ancient magic behind it all is really quite fascinating. It has the same sort of air to it that Astronomy and Divination do, but it encompasses a few more of my interests without driving to far from the core concept of the class.

  • This year, The TriWizard Tournament is being held once again and you're of age. Do you put your name in the Goblet? Why or why not? I would shove people out of my way just to get my name into the Goblet of Fire. Fame, glory, money - it's all good, although I am a bit of an adrenaline junkie and if the previous tournaments have said anything about the tasks (people dying and such) then I would love the rush and danger of the entire tournament. I don't really care about mass pride for my school, but it sounds like a lot of fun, no matter the risks, and you must be off your bloody rocker if you don't want that prize.

  • If you could choose your animagus form, what would it be and why? A python. It was hard to decide between a python and a viper; constrictor or venomous. When it comes to pets, I would rather have a viper in the Wizarding World - odds are the venom could be quite useful in potions and it would be much better protection to have something that needs to bite you in order to kill you rather than constrict you, but I think if I had to become something I would rather be a python - one of those really huge ones that could eat an alligator too. As for why - well... I love reptiles, but I don't particularly want to have limbs that aren't much larger than half of my head - so I would rather be a snake. If you ask any of my friends, they'd probably tell you I have ophiophilia (note the username) and I probably do, but I just love the way they move and the scales - can't get much better than that. I think it would be a lot more useful than some of the creatures that people turn into, and other than some sort of feline, I really can't think of anything else I would turn into if it was just based off my general posture and personality.

  • What HP character do you identify with most and why? Of all the characters who have had roles in the series that lasted for more than a flashback and a brief encounter, it would probably be Bellatrix LeStrange - although Bartemius Crouch (Junior) is an extremely close second. I don't necessarily agree with everything Bellatrix has done (namely killing Sirius), but from what they have told us about her and her portrayal in the movies she is probably the most like me in personality. She is sadistic, which I won't deny that I am as well, and a bit on the psychotic side (alright - maybe that was an understatement) - not to mention she seems fairly intelligent (Rowling said something on her website once regarding her grades in Hogwarts - without this, I might have actually chosen Tom Marvolo Riddle... or Morfin Gaunt, but only because of his little rhyme) and powerful. She lacks some of the finer attributes of my personality, the ability to seem a bit more rich/pure (where Barty does seem to have said skill - as well as the skill to make it seem as though he is innocent; good acting is loved), but I think if you mix her with Barty and perhaps a bit of Lucius - that would essentially be me. Albeit, I wouldn't be a pureblood supremest (if that is a word) if I was in the Wizarding World, which takes me away from most of the Slytherins just a bit, but I think that it is probably the closest connection I have to any one character in the series.

  • What would you see if you looked into the Mirror of Erised? I would probably see myself in a mansion, sitting in a rounded, two story library, with gold-plated everything and some nice statues and book ends where bookcases and desks weren't sitting. It should also be noted that my name is Alexandra Crouch now. Why? Well, I love money - a lot. As such I would hope that in the future I was extremely wealthy and had a lovely mansion, but I also like books and would insist on getting one of those REALLY huge libraries that have more books than one could ever read in a life time on subjects that may not even really interest me, just incase the need comes up for me to have them. I just kinda like decoration, so the statues and gold would just be something I would insist on in every room of my house (including the bathrooms) just because that is the kind of person that I am. I'd probably also have a portraits of any of the following people: Lucius Malfoy, Morfin or Marvolo Gaunt, Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa von Nettesheim, Auroleus Phillipus Theophrastus Bombastus von Hohenheim (Paracelsus), Herpo the Foul, Morgan le Fay, the four Founders, Merwyn the Malicious, Xavier Rastrick, Crispin Cronk, Laverne de Montmorency, Hesper Starkey, Pollux and Arcturus Black, Roderick Plumpton, Newt Scamander, Adalbert Waffling, Perpetua Fancourt, Derwent Shimpling, Myron Wagtail, Amarillo Lestoat, Count Vlad Drakul, the Falmouth Falcons, the Vrasta Vultures, the Toyohashi Tengu, the Tchamba Charmers, the Gorodok Gargoyles, or Blodwyn Bludd. Also, I love Barty Crouch Jr. A lot. I would marry him.

  • If you won a million dollars, how would you spend it? Well, I would set half of it aside for college and the time between college and getting a career to help support me afterwards... then of the remaining half I imagine about 300,000 of it would be going to taxes (damn government) - but whether it was 200,000 or 500,000 - I would spend the remainder of my money on personal items - perhaps some more clothes (although not more than $3,000 - and even that is pushing it), some CDs, a LOT of books (educational and fictional) and manga, some movies and anime, some video games, a Wii/PS3/Xbox 360, a car (I'll be driving soon enough anyway), and then any extra money would probably be put to either getting something for my friends, getting myself a lifetime supply of imported cuisine, or put into the funds with the other half of the money.

  • What was your ideal job as a kid? Has that changed? What is your ideal job now? I am sure when I was like... five or under I probably wanted to be a princess - but when I was in first grade and up until about fifth grade I wanted to be a paleontologist (studies prehistoric life). At fifth grade, I wanted to become an archaeologist (studies artifacts - think Egypt and such), during eight or ninth grade I wanted to become a historian (removes the field work, keeps the study), and now I would like to become a museum curator who writes books about history and Earth Sciences (including prehistoric creatures) - as such, it changed to accommodate my dislike of field work and my passion for writing, but the subject matter hasn't really changed in ten years... in college I intend to take classes in writing, editing, history (ancient/Japanese), Earth Sciences (including dinosaurs), and the Japanese language (translation is a good business too).

  • If you were able to invent one spell, potion, or charm, what would it do, what would you use it for or how would you use it, and what would you call it? I would create a potion called Mortuus Basium ((Latin - Death/Dead/Dying/etc. Kiss)) which could preform the same action that a Dementor's kiss could preform; removing the necessity for dementors - which have the nasty habit of not exactly listening to orders, and create a more reliable source of soul removal for the Ministry of Magic, which may also help prisons other than Azkaban which might not have dementors at their disposal. Reliability and convenience - would probably make me a decent sum from the Ministry, and of course Dark Lords could always use it for their evil deeds, as they would tend to.

  • If you were to face a boggart, what would it turn into? And what does it turn into when you throw the counter-spell, Riddikulus? Generally speaking, I don't have too many fears - so there is only really one thing it could possibly turn into: a large injection needle - one of those floating ones that charges at people. I don't mind getting stabbed and cut, burned and drowned, and essentially any other form of physical pain INCLUDING getting jabbed with sewing needles - but medical needles are just not my thing. Six years old, pneumonia, hospitals with incompetent nurses who can't find veins for IVs to go in - it comes to these things really. I get better and just wince and whimper now, but I used to actually lash out at the doctors when they tried to give me flu shots (^_^;;). After a good Riddikulus spell on the boggart, it would probably become a very inappropriate phallic item of a similar size and shape to the shot that it was previously shaped to be.

  • What do you look for in a friend? Somebody with enough in common with me that we have enough to talk about with one another, but enough that is different in opinion with me that we can have friendly debates and not clash over certain matters (a.k.a. too similar means same taste in boys/girls). Somebody who I can spend time with or talk away the night on my phone, but still knows when distance is necessary in order for the flames of friendship to stay bright. Somebody who wouldn't betray me for a couple spare bucks in their pocket, but I don't expect them to save my life for theirs (I sure as hell wouldn't). Somebody who protects or needs protection, but would give me freedom (be it letting me have a bit of danger or by not clinging to me whenever they get a bit out of their comfort zone). Somebody who has at least a decent level of intelligence, but preferably one that matches or nearly matches my own (especially if the need comes up for me to get some homework done last minute, you know?).

  • What trait most annoys you about other people? Idiocy. I can tolerate arrogance, I can live with argumentative personalities, I can deal with obnoxious sporty jocks, I can deal with vain anorexic flirts, and I can deal with know-it-alls - but I absolutely cannot stand the presence of somebody who obviously got enough pity to be put up another grade (or paid the right people off). People who ask if cancer is contagious or if Hitler won World War II are generally people that I want to kill on sight and could never even be rare associates with. I don't expect everybody to be able to name off the dates of every major battle in the Civil War or anything, but you should probably know that the Northern Union won and not the Confederate South. It is really aggravating to talk to people who don't seem to know basic things about History, can't define words like "metaphor" or "irksome", don't know how AIDS is spread, and don't seem to understand the concept of Bonjour being a part of the French language.

  • What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities? Intelligence. Intuitive. Imaginative. Insidious. Industrious. The classes I take and the grades I get in them would tell you enough about my intelligence - I pick up on things very quickly and if they interest me enough I will study them far beyond the required curriculum. For subjects like math and more real-life situations, I am also fairly skilled at knowing what to do without any initial instruction. Fantasy and the like are my passion and most people, namely my Creative Writing and Science Fiction teachers, would tell you that I have quite the imagination. I am the type of person who eases people into my way of thinking, "corrupting from the inside" and all that - and some people seem to think I have a wity charisma to me. I work hard on things that I believe are important and even if I hate something and find it useless it will get done sufficiently and on time (although it may get done very last minute - it still gets done at an A level).

  • What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities? Impuissant. Imperious. Infidel. Ill-tempered. Indifferent. On a completely physical level, I am not a particularly strong person - I have a lot of muscle and my training partners would tell you it's best to dodge, not block, my kicks, but I have high blood pressure and asthma - so running is not something that I will be doing anytime soon. If I can run a mile, not only will it take me quite a bit longer than most people, but I also tend to have an asthma attack before I hit the 3/4 mark. However, any sports that require standing still, dodging, and hitting something else I am traditionally fairly good at it. I could probably play Quidditch too, I suppose, as technically I wouldn't be doing any of the moving - the broom would be. I have a bit of the "rich girl" attitude and am exceedingly domineering (although some guys don't mind in certain situations that I shant elaborate on). I am atheistic, I don't have any faith and am particularly not fond of the Christian religion - which can cause problems in certain situations, as many people like to hear that you are a devout something (esp. Christian). To say I am ill-tempered can be a bit of an understatement depending on who you are. I am pretty good at calming myself down when the situation calls for it (talking to a superior I respect/pays me or a friend) but if you are my parents, a teacher I have no respect for, or my brother - I am likely to bite your head off for looking at me the wrong way. Finally, despite my love of debate I find that sometimes life is easier if I just don't take up an opinion on matters, go with the flow, and hope for the best. I rarely exhibit any emotion in public, most of the time you'll only get a few cold glares, an amused smirk, or some fake amusement if the time calls for it - but even with my friends I rarely exhibit the emotions I am actually feeling. I just go with the flow and pretend it isn't happening.

  • Define in your own words the following key traits:
    • Courage: being able to face one's fears, not necessarily meaning you don't have fears though
    • Loyalty: being trustworthy, not willing to sacrifice others for your own gain, serving others for the sake of friendship
    • Intelligence: common sense, worldliness, and the ability to absorb knowledge better than others, also generally having already taken in quite a bit of knowledge
    • Ambition: determination, the will to step on anybody's shoulders to achieve your goals
