Writing about myself feels so pretentious. Ah well.
If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
Seriously? I don't know whether I would change anything about it-- it has got a neat little balance of order and chaos that I would not want to throw off, although sometimes I would like to throw everyone into a very deep hole. However, to rid the world of everyone and everything I happen to dislike would mean I would have nothing to poke fun, scowl at, and behave pompously towards, and that would probably get a bit boring after awhile.
What comes to mind is that, without something on the other end of the spectrum to compare things to, could you really experience anything to its full extent? Without darkness, would there be light? Without sorrow, would there really be joy?
There's a place in this world for everything, however unfair it may seem.
What makes a person respectable?
Free will, talent, and a good sense of where they stand. People who follow anyone blindly rarely get anywhere, though that's not to say they are bad people, I suppose. Personally, I respect people who are able to do what few others are able to do, and who are able to get ahead without compromising their beliefs or 'selling out', so to speak. Even if I disagree with someone, I can respect their opinions if they're well thought-out and I can see where they are coming from.
What do you look for in a friend?
Someone who doesn't whine. Honestly. I can't stand it when people who wallow in their own self-pity and are so caught up with how awful their little lives are that they neither listen to anything you say or ever want to do anything fun. I also adore people who can carry on an intelligent discussion, and people who I at least have something in common with. Maturity and the ability to actually have FUN are also a definate must. (Feels a bit like a personal ad, doesn't it?)
What are your hobbies?
Doing a hundred things at once. I write, draw, research, read vehemently, and and play multiple musical instruments (usually bass or guitar). I'm admittedly addicted to playing in HP RPGs, and also a knitting addict. I'm also avid concertgoer, among 3453453 other things.
Have or would you give time and money to a charity?
I used to help run a reading circle with kids at a public library, as I thought it was important to promote reading at the time. If I had more money, I would probably donate, but alas, I do not. I've volunteered for many other things too, but haven't done a lot of that lately.
What is the one thing you would most like to accomplish?
To actually BE someone and be happy in what I do. I know I want to contribute and make a difference in some way, though I haven't quite figured out that purpose yet. I'd like to earn some respect some day, or perhaps in some way, be known as one of the best at what I do. :)
Who is your role model?
I don't really have a role model; I'm past that stage and would rather become my own person than a shadow of someone else.
What trait most annoys you about other people?
Ignorance in general. I can't stand it. Especially when people are rather smug about it, and really don't know what they're talking about. I correct teachers, honestly. Aside from factual ignorance, in other respects I am really irritated when people are emotionally ignorant as well, such as the type who can't tell when you despise them or take every little thing as a personal attack. In short: being an imbecile = BAD, kiddies. Just because ignorance is bliss, doesn't mean it ought to be allowed.
What do you want to do for a living?
Ahh. Tough question, as I make a new decision on this about once every two weeks. Perhaps something involving languages or the arts, perhaps even sciences, though I'm really not sure of this as of yet. I mainly just want to find something I'm happy in and would not be completely ashamed of. I want to GET somewhere in life.
If your friend was attacked (by a person, animal, or (in the magic world) beast), what would you do?
Probably shout and after a few moments of paralysing terror, run off to try and get help. If it was an animal, perhaps maybe try to distract it, though I probably wouldn't get physically involved. Then again, you never really do know these things until they happen, right?
Would you ever use an Unforgivable Curse for any reason?
Perhaps in a fit of blind rage or terror, but never premeditated, probably. When it comes down to either using an Unforgivable or being killed/having someone else killed, I think most people would probably choose the former. Then again, I can't speak for everyone, but if it was defensive, and I could either kill or be killed, I would not go down without a serious fight.
What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities?
I hate doing these. I don't know, maybe: (in no particular order)
1) Sensibility: I almost always think things through thoroughly and logically, and don't act upon impulse or emotion alone. When in doubt, I make lists.
2) Intelligence: I like to think myself to be fairly intelligent, although how much of that is just me being arrogant, I'm not sure.
3) Innovation/Creativity: I can usually come up with creative solutions to problems when needed, and am quite capable of doing things in new and original ways, mainly because I'm always seeking to improve everything.
4) Being an opportunist: I jump on any opportunity I come across, and am skilled at being able to talk my way into/out of most situations. I can admittedly be a shameless syncophant if it gets me somewhere.
5) Loyalty: It can take a bit to get on my good side (picky, I know), but once someone gains my respect or becomes a friend, I pretty much stand by/support them through anything.
What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities?
Similarly:
1) Taking myself/everything too seriously: I'm really horrible at this and do a lot of scowling at things. I never laugh at jokes and this gets me laughed at even more.
2) Never completing things: Because I am often doing a myriad of things at once, I rarely finish most of my projects on time, if at all.
3) Paranoia/cowardice: I can find the worst case scenario in any situation and tend to think anything even remotely risky will cause me grieveous bodily damage. I have a terrible fear of mimes.
4) Perfectionism: Disorder, improper grammar, and other things of that ilk make me cry. Well, not really. But anything that isn't BETTER than perfect tends to make me feel like an utter failure.
5) Competitive smugness: I like to out-do people. I can't help it. If I can't be the best, I don't try at all, and when I do come out on top, I tend to get a bit smug about it. Le sigh.
Define in your own words the following key traits:
Courage: Being able to stand your own ground, be it physically, morally, or intellectually. Not giving in when the going gets tough; resilience, endurance.
Loyalty: Standing by somone regardless of what it looks like or what other people think; enduring any hardships involved in associating with that person (or a belief) and not allowing others to influence this decision. Being a steadfast supporter in those who deserve it.
Intelligence: Having a quick wit, and a sharp ability to think on one's feet in any given situation. Book smarts, I think, have very little to do with actual intelligence.
Ambition: Striving to become more than what one is, and achieving or surpassing one's full potential. Seeking betterment, and making appropiate sacrifices when it is necessary.

What house do you think DOESN'T fit you? (This question is optional for those who feel they just DO NOT fit in a house. Please explain WHY.)
I honestly think that in some small way, I could fit into any of them. Therefore, no preference here.
