If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
I suppose I would make people understand each other. I think a lot of problems in the world could be solved if people could see
both sides of an issue. I think this would also reduce the kind of fanatical beliefs that create a lot of the issues in the
world today.

What makes a person respectable?
A person is respectable if they respect other people, and also if they are true to themselves. You ultimately have to follow
whatever course of action is right for you, but you should do it while still trying to understand others.

What do you look for in a friend?
In a friend I look for someone who shares interests with me, who I can talk to, both about trivialities and 'deep questions,'
and who seems to understand me, and I them.

What are your hobbies?
I am a classical musician who plays the oboe. I am in my university's orchestra, and also a small ensemble. As a result, and
also because of my ambitions to become a professional musician, I practice quite a bit. I also love books, and read a lot. I'm
especially fond of fantasy books, such as Lord of the Rings, or Robin Mckinley's books, and King Arthur stories, but I'm
open to just about anything.

Have or would you give time and money to a charity?
I have occasionally, working in the library several years ago, and also working, albeit for school, in a thrift shop last
spring. I haven't often given money, but mostly because I don't have the means, lacking a credit card and such. I do, however,
think that charities are highly commendable and so are those who give time and money to them.

What is the one thing you would most like to accomplish?
The thing that I would most like to accomplish is to become an oboist in a major orchestra. My dream, of course, would be to
become a principal oboist, but openings for a principal seat are few and far between. This is the one thing that I would give
almost anything to have.

Who is your role model?
I suppose that my role model is my oboe teacher from last year. She teaches at George Mason University and plays in the Army
band, and has such incredible determination. She grew up in Arizona, and taught herself for quite a while, before ending up on
the East coast, where she made it as far as the final round for the second oboe chair in the New York Philharmonic. How far she
made it is really an inspiration to me. It kind of shows me what I can be able to do.

What trait most annoys you about other people?
I hate it when people refuse to understand the other side of an issue. I also find it highly annoying when people are
purposefully ignorant or can't admit that they've made a mistake.

What do you want to do for a living?
Well, aside from my dream to play in an orchestra, I am very interested in music history, which would be an interesting field
to work in. It would be very cool to work at a museum or something of that sort with old music and musical instruments.
Recently I've also been contemplating conducting, or becoming a music teacher.

If your friend was attacked (by a person, animal, or (in the magic world) beast), what would you do?
If we were near an area where help would be available, I would run and get help, or if I had a wand I would send up some sort
of message, or just yell for help. I might try to distract it, though not with myself, by throwing a rock away from me or
something. I would try to help my friend, and do what I could.

Would you ever use an Unforgivable Curse for any reason?
If one of my family or friends or I were being attacked, and it were the only way, I suppose I would use an Unforgivable Curse.
However, it would have to be at a last resort. Of the three, I don't think I would ever use Avada Kedavra.

What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities?
I'm a good listener and, I think, a good friend, I honestly want to help people, I'm smart, I know who I am and what I want to
do, and I'm passionate about things

What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities?
I worry a lot, sometimes I have a tendency to wallow in my "angst," I try sometimes too hard to avoid conflicts, I have a hard
time meeting people, I have a problem with indecision

Define in your own words the following key traits:

Courage: Courage is being strong in the face of opposition, but not foolish. I think it comes in many varieties. There
is courage in dangerour situations, in sacrifices for others, in standing up for what you believe in, and in doing what is
right.

Loyalty: Loyalty is remaining true to your beliefs, and also to those who have put their trust in you. It is not
betraying someone, and remaining true to your word.

Intelligence: Intelligence is not only having knowledge, but learning from it. And, you know, you can have "street
smarts" type intelligence as well as book intelligence. Really what intelligence is to me is being smart, in all of its
different connotations.

Ambition: I think ambition is usually associated for a desire for power and position above all else, but it also can
just mean being willing to put all things aside for a goal.

What house do you think DOESN'T fit you? (This question is optional for those who feel they just DO NOT fit in a house.
Please explain WHY.) Slytherin. I simply don't feel that I have the qualities that would make me a Slytherin.
