I just saw this with friends this weekend. I love it! It's such a sweet, touching story. I loved, loved, loved Jude Law's characters; I want to marry him. Kate Winslet is lovely as always. In the beginning I was a little worried about Jack Black because they seem like such a unlikely couple but it worked perfectly. It was such a pleasant suprise.

i wish they had spent a bit more time with their characters, or rather developing them.
but i realised life does happen like that; people tumble into relationships like they did.
i liked it.

Oh, I want to see this film badly now. It looked good but you have fabulous taste, so now I know it is worth seeing.

I am so in love with Jude Law. Wow.

don't hold it against me if you hate it!
i have a soft spot for romantic comedies, ridiculously enough.
but this one was lovely.

I'm going to see this on Christmas Eve hopefully, the only thing I'm not going to like is the fact that all Hollywood films seem to portray England as this silly quaint 'english cottage' ideal. I live in rural Surrey, believe me, it's hardly ever like that!

true, it went a wee bit overboard, but i think it was mainly for juxtapositioning-- placing a hollywood girl in the english countryside. other than the slightly silly bathtub, i thought it was fairly spot-on, reminded me a lot of small houses in scotland.

i hope you enjoy it!

you're always horrible to me about my soft spot[s] for romantic comedies!
pssh.
tell isla to see it and not worry about mean jennifer.

i don't know that i'd actually like jude law, though he's been in several lovely films.
i don't know much about him, in fact.
but i do like his character in the holiday so shur pur or whatever words were invented during moittens.

and YES. kate winslet is completely wonderful in it.
i don't know that you'd like it at all. it has that sort of love actually suicide-evoking thing going on.
i have a love hate relationship with those sorts of films.
