Most people don't need 2200 calories. For a normal-weighted but only mildly active woman, it's closer to around 1600-1700. Guys are higher, but a sedentary man still won't need much more than 1900 or so. Like you noted, lean muscle mass increases your metabolic rate, as does exercise, but it doesn't increase it that much. I'm 26, female, 5'5", I work out pretty hard 5x a week or so, and I still only need around 2050 a day ( ... )

Thanks for the information. I will heretofore properly disclaim any information I give here by stating that I am not qualified to make definitely statements on pretty much any issue.
