Maybe I'll go against the prevailing trend here and say that I was very disappointed with the new star wars.  I think my biggest gripe over the course of all three movies is that never did I get a feeling that anything EPIC was happening before my eyes.  It all just felt very small and petty...and wooden.  I dunno, I guess I view these as sort of ( Read more... )

I havent seen ROTS yet, but I agree with you on the whole "whiny angst Anakin" thing. If I take the previous movies as canon, I lose a lot of respect for Vader, and not in the "he's evil, I hate him" kind of way. He never seemed like he achieved anything other than having insanely high midichlorean counts.

And that's another thing, does the whole "power rating" meme remind you of Dragon Ball Z? "Oh my! His power rating is off the chart!"

Movies are getting too heavy (with $$$) lately to support their own weight. I watch more "fringe" movies than mainstream movies now. Movies are turning ever more "pop".

Hi, by the way :P

...yes and now. He's supposed to be a great hero of the clone wars adn the second movie is only the launching pad for that. *shrug* maybe I just set my expectations too high

Scott, don't talk to me about star wars. it opened here in France, and I was one of the only 4 people in my group who didn't get in. They had Storm troopers of the red carpet. I saw george lucas on a screen walking down the carpet, but I didn't get in.
