A day in the life

I was a complete and utter beyotch this morning when my car pick-up service was late - the upshot is that they didn't charge me for the ride to the airport (or, more precisely, will not charge the company), but I did feel badly afterwards. But really - it wasn't so much that there was a screw-up that pissed me off, because things happen. But when ( Read more... )

I might have had a visual to help you get over this cigarette thing, but I wouldn't want to be accused of secretly liking a certain scene contained in a particular episode of a now defunct TV series.

And being a smoker myself, I know it probably still wouldn't help, so I'll just say best of luck to ya.

Not to get all lawyer-ish on you, but technically... a reference to a reference to a thing is still a reference to that thing, no matter how obliquely made. Now you're on probation. :)

I've had similar car pick-up issues in the past, and I always get pissed off. I'm a time paranoid, and I always leave time to get to the airport way early, but they don't know that, and they're not being paid to be late, dammit.

I take it you did make your plane in the end?

Yes, fortunately there wasn't a huge line to clear customs/immigration (I was travelling to the US), and the security scan went quickly as well, so I did make it on time. But I agree - pretty much one of the only things they are being paid to do (aside from drive) is to be there on time, so if they can't manage that, they've screwed up. But again, I wouldn't have been upset if the dispatcher hadn't lied to me when I called and asked where they were, because that was just unnecessary.
