Ask Ausiello has a new interview up with Rob Thomas, in which he's pretty spoilery for season 2 and also very frank about UPN's *involvement* in the creative side of the show. Most interesting to me is the following spoiler, under the cut.

He did mention bringing Charisma on the show at some point, but she wasn't a Laker girl was she? She was a cheerleader for the San Diego Chargers unless she was a Laker girl, too. Of course he could just be talking generalities. Laker girl - Charger girl - same thing. I hope it's CC as well, but if not in this part, I think she's pretty much guaranteed some kind of guest shot on the show. *crosses fingers*

Duh. It just dawned on me he was talking about the character being a Laker girl and not the actress he was hiring. Ignore my ignorant post above. ;)

See, that was my thought when he mentioned Bonnie Bakely. She was just trashy. I loved every bit of that description right up until the part where he mentioned that name, and thought it fit CC perfectly. But after hearing that...? I'm not so sure.

(Plus I'd just decided to watch The Inside instead of VM. I'm going to have to get that double channel thing on my TiVO if CC really is cast in the part.)

As far as The Inside, current buzz is Fox is burning off episodes to make it go away, so there may not be a conflict there.

I have a really hard time justifying two TiVO's to myself. It's not like my cat and I have greatly varied viewing habits. Then again, my niece visits quite a bit, and I really really REALLY don't care for Dragon Tales or Barney. (The Doodlebops, OTOH, I find strangely compelling. And The Wiggles are just plain fun. *g*)

Aww. I'm not surprised that Fox isn't going to give this show a chance, but I am a little saddened. I quite liked the neutrality and ambiguity of a couple of the characters. Then again, with Minear at the helm, I'm sure something would have hacked me off pretty quickly.

I'm going to miss this show so much - I'm heavily spoiled for the finale, but still mightily looking forward to it.

I'm missing it already. The BBC really aren't helping though by continually running trailers for the Christmas episode. It wouldn't be so bad, but they haven't even started filming it yet *g*

I'm sure you'll love the finale. It really was a great episode from RTD.
