Ok I have a dilema. I am sitting here contemplating about many things right now. One is concerning relationships and how they cannot take place due to religion. WE ARE IN HIGH SCHOOL. Personally I dont see how it matters as both my parents are two opposite religions. Please help me understand what I am not. Write me some comments and leave names, ( Read more... )

First I am going to tell you that I am not gonna let you know who I am. You know me, but I just don't want to tell you who I am. Don't try guessing because you will never guess in a millions years. That whole religion thing seems like a problem. I personally would like to marry someone of my own religion, but if that doesn't happen oh well you can't help who you fall in love with. But yes you are right you are still in highschool and religion is one thing that shouldn't be a big deal. It's not like you are going to marry this person. It's one thing if you have totally different beliefs (like a Christian and an atheist) though. If that is how it is I see where the other person is coming from. If they think that having different religions is a big problem then it is not ment to be. I am not trying to put you down or anything because you are an awesome person but they could also be saying that just for a reason and they may not really believe it.

Hey Samir...this is Martina...I don't have a problem putting my name because if you have something to say you should be worth standing behind it. I know that a lot of high school people do find religion a big deal. I also agree with the above person in the example given. If somebody's faith is important to them, and a big part of their life, then yes it would be hard to date someone who, especially, has no religion. As a Christian myself I might find it hard to date an atheist because it seems to me that our lives would almost be lived differently. However, if two people like each other and are of different faiths, but both have a belief system, then I think there should be not a huge problem in at least going on dates with people. You are right, we are in high school and I think when kids our age quit acting like everybody they date is their newest soulmate they would better off. However, there is no sense in telling someone that doesn't want to date somebody else due to their religion that they are stupid because they won't ( ... )

Hey I thank you guys for your comments, but I just want to clarify that I am not athiest. I believe in God, but I believe in parts of Islam, Judaism, and Christianity. I feel that I am a very open minded person because of this. Also let the record show that when I lived in the north, religion did not seperate two people that have fallen for eachother. Keep in mind people, I am just looking for input and I am not pointing fingers.

Sorry I wasn't saying you were an athiest (because I didn't know what you believed), I was just pointing out a situation. Yes to nothern folks religion is a whole different world. I have never lived in the north but my parents are from the north. They definitly have some different beliefs than eachother. We are living in the bible belt (religion is stressed a lot more down here and in a different way). I can definitly work, but I guess some people don't see it that way. I guess all you can do is try to work it out and if it doesn't work out then it wasn't ment to be. That is what I always say, if things don't work out right then it wasn't ment to be...not just in this situation but in any situation really.
